Monday, April 27, was a busy and moving day for the "Rays of Memory" volunteer group of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
The faculty returns to this site year after year to pay tribute and respect to all the fallen soldiers, partisans, and civilians of the village of Yanushkovichi in the Logoisk District. Such events help preserve the memory of the heroes and civilians who gave their lives for our bright today. Returning to the village of Yanushkovichi is not only an opportunity to honor their memory but also a way to unite people in the pursuit of peace and mutual understanding. Such events are crucial for strengthening historical memory and fostering civic responsibility and patriotism in young people.
"After visiting the monument to those who died during the Great Patriotic War in the village of Yanushkovichi, you realize how horrific the events of that time were. The number of names brings goosebumps. Adults, children, and entire families were killed." Now we know all this from books, from the stories of our grandmothers and parents, because there are very few left who lived through it. It's important to remember these horrific pages of our history, to honor their memory, and to visit places like these, which are literally soaked with tears and hopes for a peaceful sky above. Only in this way can we protect ourselves from new disasters and preserve the fragile peace that was so hard won," noted Kira Romanenko, head of study group 10302124.
We thank all the students of group 10302124 for their commitment. They have proven that it is through action that we must pass on the memory of our people's heroism in the most terrible war.
"Events like these provide an opportunity to touch the true pain of those who perished, those who witnessed the Nazis murdering their loved ones, those who survived the war and saw its terrible face." "The children were inoculated with the memory of generations, able to feel the grief that war brings, understand the fragility of peace, and, undoubtedly, today will leave a lasting impression," noted Elena Nikolaevna Kostyukevich, Deputy Dean for Ideological and Educational Work.
The new members of the "Rays of Memory" volunteer group took over the baton from the children who participated in the restoration of the monument, and this baton will continue. As long as memory lives on in the younger generation, no one and nothing is forgotten!
