Students and teachers of FITR BNTU took an active part in the national clean-up day on April 18.

Студенты и преподаватели ФИТР приняли активное участие в республиканском субботнике

On April 18, 2026, the staff of the Faculty of Information Technology and Robotics of the Belarusian National Technical University joined the republican clean-up, contributing to the improvement and restoration of order on the territory of the university and adjacent urban facilities.

From the very morning, the sites were crowded: students, undergraduates, postgraduates, teachers and faculty staff, armed with the necessary equipment, went out to clean up. Despite the early start, the weather favored the working mood – the spring sun and fresh air created a positive mood.

The participants of the clean-up cleaned lawns and sidewalks of last year's foliage and household waste, restored curb lines, and also put flower beds in front of the BNTU academic buildings in proper condition. Some of the volunteers took up wet cleaning in classrooms, corridors and laboratories of FITR, where practical classes in programming, circuit engineering and robotics are held.

The Republican clean–up day is not just a tradition, but also an important lesson in responsibility. For a faculty that trains specialists for the digital economy, it is important to understand that technology should not detach a person from the real environment. The purity around us begins with our own actions. We are glad that our students and teachers responded and showed an example of active citizenship.

The students also shared their impressions. Future software engineers admitted that working outdoors was a useful relaxation before the exam session, and teamwork helped strengthen team spirit.

FITR's participation in the republican clean–up is a contribution not only to the purity of the alma mater, but also to the image of the whole of Minsk. The BNTU Faculty of Information Technology and Robotics has once again proved that high intelligence goes hand in hand with hard work and respect for the environment.
