From April 14 to 16, 2026, the international HI-TECH innovation exhibition took place in Saint Petersburg, with active participation from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.
The exhibition’s business program included the “Best Innovation Project and Best Scientific-Technical Development of the Year” contest. Taking part in this event not only helps achieve tangible results in promoting innovative projects but also enhances an organization’s reputation as a reliable business partner capable of tackling long-term challenges in research, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship.
In 2026, 35 organizations submitted 65 projects across 30 categories, spanning mechanical engineering, metallurgy, metalworking, instrumentation, robotics, nanotechnologies, information and educational technologies, ecology, biotechnologies, and medicine. Ten higher education institutions of the Republic of Belarus, together with the BNTU Technopark “Polytechnic,” presented 29 scientific and technical projects in fields such as microwave measurement systems and devices, innovative materials, food technologies, personalized medicine, instrumentation, mechanical engineering, metallurgy, metalworking, power engineering, ecology, and others.
For reference: The contest was established by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Russian Federation in 1996. Over its history, more than 3,900 scientific developments in various sectors of the economy have been awarded. Leading Russian experts in science and technology are invited to evaluate the submitted projects.
Contest Results
The Science and Technology Park of BNTU “Polytechnic” was awarded the contest’s Grand Prix in the category “Best Innovation in Import Substitution, Localization, Import Leadership, and Successful Market Launch” for its development “Locking Plates and Screws for Osteosynthesis with Surgical Instrumentation.”

As a result of the contest, Belarusian universities secured the Grand Prix, 4 special prizes, 12 gold medals, and 8 silver medals.
Furthermore, all exhibitors at the collective exposition of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus were awarded diplomas for their active participation in the HI-TECH 2026 International Innovation Exhibition and their contribution to the advancement of science.
In closing, it is worth noting that BNTU has been taking part in the HI-TECH exhibition as part of the Ministry of Education’s collective stand since 2002. Over this period, the university has accumulated a record that includes a Grand Prix, 6 special prizes, 61 gold awards, 51 silver awards, and 27 diplomas.
