On March 2, 2026, within the framework of a career-oriented meeting, the head of the department "Bridges and Tunnels" of the Faculty of Transport Communications Grechukhin, Vladimir Alexandrovich met with students of engineering class GUO "Gymnasium 30 in Minsk named after the hero of the Soviet Union B. S. Okrashina".
The students learned about the history of the faculty, were introduced to modern directions in the training of engineering personnel, which are used in the era of digitalization and automation of production. Grechukhin V.A. spoke about the conditions of admission and training in specialties of the faculty of transport communications.
The meeting took place in a format of live dialogue. Career guidance is an important link between the school bench, studies at university and successful careers.
“What pleased me most was the genuine interest of the students in modern bridge design technologies. When I told them that our students, already in their junior years, are mastering BIM modelling and digital twins of structures, one of the students asked: ‘Will it be possible to design a viaduct over the Neman River right in virtual reality?’ Such questions show that the students think one step ahead – and that is exactly what we value in future engineers,” shared Vladimir Grechukhin.
During the conversation, the guys received handout materials with contact information that they could use to get answers to their questions.
