A meeting of the Faculty of Engineering and Pedagogics' Council of Curators was held at Dormitory No. 16 of the Belarusian National Technical University. The main topics of discussion were student academic performance and the organization of their leisure activities outside of class time. The speakers were Faculty Dean Alexey Drobysh and Deputy Dean for Ideological and Educational Work Yulia Susha.
For reference: The goal of the Council of Curators is to improve and enhance the methodological and organizational aspects of ideological and educational work with students by ensuring the organization and coordination of effective curatorial activities, as well as improving the forms and methods of individual and group work between study group curators and students.
Yulia Susha shared her personal experience as a study group curator, noting the special role of a mentor in a student's life and the need for collaboration between study group curators. Teacher Tatyana Ekimova, in turn, emphasized that the effectiveness of a curator's work directly impacts the socialization of each student in the dormitory.
The council also focused on extracurricular activities organized by faculty structures. Such activities could include organizing community service projects at Dormitory No. 16, preventing student crime, organizing sports and mass events, and promoting civic and patriotic education.
"Events of this kind are extremely effective, as the mentors can discuss pressing issues and share their experience in solving various problems," noted Elena Shatilo, a first-year mentor.
The final stage of the council meeting was a visit by the mentors to the student residences of the supervised groups.
