BNTU continues to expand the geography of international cooperation

БНТУ продолжает расширять географию международного сотрудничества

On January 6, the Belarusian National Technical University hosted an online meeting with representatives of Yangon University of Technology and Mandalay University of Technology (Myanmar). The event was the second stage of the parties' negotiations on a long-term partnership.

For reference: the first stage of negotiations was a face-to-face meeting on November 11, 2025, attended by Consul General of the Consulate General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Moe Kyaw Tu and Consular Attaché Win Naing U. General issues regarding cooperation with Yangon Technological University and Mandalay Technological University were discussed at that time.

Vice-Rector Hla Myo Tun participated in the online meeting from Yangon University of Technology, and Vice–Rector Sang Yu Khaing participated from Mandalay University of Technology. Deputy Rector for Academic Affairs Yuri Nikolaychik, Dean of the Faculty of International Cooperation Pavel Shirvel, Head of the Department of International Marketing of Educational Services and Work with Foreign Students Inna Khatskevich and specialist of the Department of International Programs, Exchanges and Protocol Yaroslav Bazhko told representatives of Myanmar universities in more detail about the Polytechnic.

The parties discussed prospects for collaboration and the development of cooperation in education and science, including the possibility of creating joint programs and conducting applied research. They also discussed the organization of academic mobility for faculty and students, as well as the preparation of joint scientific publications and presentations at international conferences to present the results of their joint work.

The negotiations resulted in an agreement to draft a joint cooperation agreement. The document is expected to be signed soon and will open new horizons for strategic partnership between the universities.
