Students and Staff of the FITR Faculty at BNTU Held Charity Events at the “Fauna Goroda” and “Domik Spasennykh Dush” Animal Shelters

Благотворительные акции, организованные ФИТР, подарили заботу и внимание бездомным животным

At the beginning of December, students and staff of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Robotics at BNTU organized a series of charity events in support of animals that have been left without a home.

On December 2, the trade union activists of FITR together with the student council of Dormitory No. 12 visited the “Fauna Goroda” animal shelter — a place where care is given every day to those who once lost their homes. Thanks to donations from our students, it was possible to purchase pet food and essential supplies, which were handed over to the shelter’s four-legged residents. The students spent time with the animals and heard their touching stories, which are difficult to listen to without deep emotion. The children’s drawings dedicated to animals made a particularly strong impression: sincere, bright, and kind, they reminded everyone how important it is to foster responsibility and compassion from an early age.

On December 4, the relay of kindness continued with a charity trip to the “Domik Spasennykh Dush” shelter. The event was organized by the faculty. With the funds raised, food and other necessary items for the shelter were purchased and personally delivered by the students.

The shelter is located in a private residential area and resembles a small complex: two houses for cats, a house for dogs, and an outdoor enclosure. The staff organized a brief tour for the group: first they showed the storage room where food and supplies are kept, and that is where the volunteers left the donated goods. Then the students were invited to the dog house, where the animals were active, friendly, and very affectionate. One dog who had recently undergone surgery due to an oncological illness was especially memorable: despite wearing a protective collar, she was surprisingly lively and eager to interact with everyone.

After that, the visitors went to meet the cats. In one of the houses lived younger, more energetic and playful pets, while the other housed older animals, calmer and more cautious, but no less grateful for attention and care. For many students, this visit was their first close encounter with the work of volunteers and the real stories of animals living in shelters.

This series of charity events showed how much can be achieved through joint efforts: one bank transfer, one bag of food, one visit to a shelter — and someone’s life becomes a little easier and warmer. The students and staff of the FITR Faculty at BNTU once again proved that compassion and the willingness to help are an important part of life and of true human values.
