Expanding the geography of cooperation. BNTU implements joint projects with Chengdu University of Technology

On Thursday, November 6, 2025, a business meeting was held at the Belarusian National Technical University with the participation of a delegation from the Charitable Foundation for the Support of Education and Development of Talented Students and the Institute of Engineering Technology of the Chengdu University of Technology (PRC). The purpose of the visit was to discuss issues of cooperation in joint training of specialists and academic exchange, including in the field of nuclear and thermonuclear technologies.

The delegation included the Secretary General, Director of the Management Committee of the Charitable Foundation for the Support of Education and Development of Talented Students Tian Di, an employee of the foundation's international cooperation department, translator Ekaterina Ignatyeva, Director of the Institute of Engineering Technology of Chengdu University of Technology Wang Ke, Deputy Director of the Institute of Engineering Technology of Chengdu University of Technology Xu Qiuju, and Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Institute of Engineering Technology of Chengdu University of Technology Li Ren.

The Polytech's interests were represented by Deputy Rector for Academic Affairs Yuri Nikolaychik and Head of the Department of International Marketing, Educational Services, and International Student Affairs at the Faculty of International Cooperation Irina Khatskevich.

First, Yuri Nikolaychik told the guests about the Belarusian National Technical University.

– The Republic of Belarus has various models for educational development. One of them is 'University 3.0,'" the vice-rector emphasized. "Its concept encompasses an educational component, scientific research, as well as their commercialization and implementation in the real sector of the economy.

Wang Ke, Director of the Institute of Engineering Technology at Chengdu University of Technology, presented detailed information about his university. He focused on innovative developments that have already been implemented or are planned for implementation.

Then the parties moved on to negotiations, which focused on the creation and implementation of joint educational programs, as well as the development of academic mobility. The Chinese delegation supported the idea of exchanging students and teachers.

During the further discussion, the participants detailed organizational issues and the choice of specific areas for cooperation. Since the meeting was attended by a BNTU lecturer and a Chinese postgraduate student, the Chinese representatives also asked about the procedure for writing and defending a dissertation in Russian for foreign citizens.

At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged memorable gifts and formed a joint work plan for the coming year.
