The Forum on Professional Higher Education brought together universities from Belarus and Uzbekistan for the second time

Форум профессионального высшего образования во второй раз объединил университеты Беларуси и Узбекистана

From October 7 to 8, 2025, the Second Belarus-Uzbekistan Forum on Professional Higher Education was held in Fergana. Fergana State University served as the venue.

Approximately 40 heads of Belarusian universities and vocational education institutions, as well as leading experts from all regions of the two countries, participated in the event. The Belarusian delegation was led by First Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Bakhanovich.

– Our cooperation in education has steadily deepened in recent years. This was spurred by the agreements reached by our highly respected leaders, Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko and Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev, – noted Alexander Bakhanovich.

The Belarusian National Technical University was represented at the forum by First Vice-Rector Andrei Safonov and Dean of the Faculty of International Cooperation Pavel Shirvel.

On the first day, participants visited an exhibition of innovative projects from Uzbekistan and the "Drone Racing" competition. A tree planting ceremony also took place, symbolizing the emergence of an even deeper partnership between the two countries.

Furthermore, forum delegates witnessed the opening of the Yakub Kolas Uzbekistan-Belarus Friendship Auditorium. This name is no coincidence: the distinguished Belarusian poet worked in Tashkent from 1941 to 1943.

Yesterday, a plenary session was also held, where education representatives discussed current issues related to joint curricula between Belarusian and Uzbek universities, scientific cooperation, and academic mobility.

The first day concluded with a visit to a crafts center. Delegates viewed exhibits of national costumes, the process of creating satin and adras fabrics, carpets, and jewelry.

The second day of the forum began with a harvest festival, followed by thematic sessions. Participants presented their papers on the interaction between the Belarusian and Uzbek education systems and the training of highly qualified personnel for both countries' economic sectors.

Thus, the forum's events allowed participants to exchange valuable experiences and discuss ideas for further cooperation and future projects. We wish the universities of Belarus and Uzbekistan productive work!
