Today, on March 27,the delegation of young scientists from Belarusian National Technical University took part in the first stage of the XIII Forum of Universities of the Engineering and Technology profile of the Union State.
For reference: every year the forum brings together engineers and scientists from leading universities of the Union State and invariably serves as a unique platform for the implementation of the main directions of Belarusian-Russian integration cooperation in priority areas of education, science and technology development. In 2024, the main events of the forum will be held in Russia for the first time, namely in Nizhny Novgorod in the autumn.
Within the framework of this stage, 60 Belarusian scientists met at the site of the International Exhibition "Russia". The representatives of the delegation of our country were invited to familiarize themselves with the large-scale exposition of the achievements of the Russian regions and the pavilions of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation ("Made by us"), the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the state Corporation “Rosatom”.
The key event of the first stage of the forum was also held at the exhibition site – a meeting of a delegation of scientists and graduate students of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus with the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Standing Committee of the Union State.
At the meeting, the head of the Department of Science and Innovation of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Peter Pekutko, noted that the interpenetration of ideas, cooperation in the academic environment is one of the main mechanisms for the development of allied science.
– This year, the Forum of Universities of Engineering and Technology profile will be held for the 13th time. This wonderful initiative has become a tradition and allows us to maintain close contacts among young scientists. We see the result of this work. In particular, the first engineering school has appeared in our country, which is coordinated by Belarusian National Technical University and Pskov State University.
Young engineer-scientists and graduate students did not miss the opportunity to exchange experiences on the development of engineering education in the context of economic transformation and discussed ways to intensify scientific and creative activities among the studying youth of the Union State. The head of the BNTU delegation, Ekaterina Korsak, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists, spoke about the opportunities that had opened up for the young scientists who arrived.
– Our delegation included representatives of various fields of science from all technical universities of Belarus. This is a great opportunity to discuss joint scientific developments and prospects for the future. I would like to develop more interaction with enterprises from a practical point of view, this is how we can reveal our theoretical potential.
The first stage of the XIII Forum of Universities of the Engineering and Technology profile of the Union State symbolically took place on the eve of the celebration of the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia. It was organized by the Standing Committee of the Union State in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia and the Ministry of Education of Belarus.
Next time, the participants will meet at the site of Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University named after R. E. Alekseev in the fall of 2024, where the main events of the forum will take place.
