The main task of the department is the high-quality training of specialists in the field of architecture and design, the development of science in the field of architectural design, the promotion of best practices in the scientific and practical activities of architects and designers.
History and activities of the department . The department "Design of the architectural environment" was established in accordance with order No. 44-P of 05/07/2002 in order to train highly qualified full-time specialists in the specialty "Architecture" 1-69 01 01 in the BNTU specialization "Urbodesign" and "Architecture of interior spaces" . Since 2006, the department has been graduating and in 2007. the first graduation of architects in the specialty "Urbodesign" took place.
Since 2006 the department began to train full-time specialists in the specialty 1-69 01 02 "Architectural design" qualification "architect-designer". In 2011 the first graduation of 25 architect-designers in this specialty took place successfully.
Since 2003 the department began training masters and graduate students in the direction of "Architecture".
In the fall semester 2009/2010 The department successfully took part in the state accreditation of the Belarusian National Technical University in the specialty of training personnel with higher education 1-69 01 02 "Architectural Design". In 2013 the department successfully passed the state accreditation in the specialty of training personnel with higher education in the specialty 1-69 80 01 "Architecture" (2nd stage master's degree), in 2014. in the specialty 1-69 81 04 "Architectural design" (2nd stage master's degree).
For three years in a row, the department won prizes in the review competition among the general education departments of the BNTU. The department has repeatedly been awarded certificates and diplomas of the organizers of international and republican exhibitions, competitions, diplomas of the Belarusian Union of Architects (for example, in 2005 it was awarded a diploma of the organizers of the exhibition "For innovation in architectural education", in 2007 - "For the high level of theses"; diplomas International student competition "Multi-comfortable house Isover" (2011-2022) Five diploma projects of graduates of the Department "Design of the architectural environment" received the Grand Prix of the Republican review competition of the best diploma projects in the field of architecture and design.
The department constantly cooperates with the Minsk diocese of the BOC MP. June 2013 the department received a letter of thanks from the rector of the Intercession parish of the Minsk diocese of the BOC MP. In 2015 the department received gratitude, and students received special prizes from St. Elisabeth Monastery for the scientific and creative project "Architectural and design concept of the pedestrian space of St. Elisabeth Monastery, Minsk". In 2017 the department received gratitude from the Borisov diocese for the work carried out within the framework of the charitable project "Architectural and design concept of the center of Borisov." In 2019 Litvinova A.A. and Polyanskaya G.V. were awarded the Diploma of Bishops of the Moscow Patriarchate of the Belarusian Orthodox Church as a blessing for their work for the benefit of the Borisov diocese.
The department is actively involved in the organization and work of projects related to the improvement of the architectural environment of the cities of the Republic of Belarus. For example, in 2015-2022. within the framework of scientific and technical cooperation between BNTU and the Minsk region under the leadership of Litvinova A.A. teachers and students of the department completed more than 20 scientific and creative projects related to improving the architectural environment of cities, for example, "Architectural and design concept of 11 objects of the Zavodskoy district in Minsk" (2019-2020). Received letters of thanks from the Minsk District Executive Committee (2014), Certificates of Honor from the Borisov District Executive Committee (2017). According to the program for the development of small and medium-sized cities, under the leadership of Litvinova A.A. students and undergraduates completed 16 scientific and creative projects. Gratitude was received from the administration of these settlements. 30 participants of the competition “Improvement of the festive zone of the Kupalle holiday (Alexandria gathers friends)” were awarded diplomas from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus. A letter of thanks was received from the Chairman of the Soligorsk District Executive Committee and the General Director of Belaruskali OJSC (2019). Many of these projects took part in international and republican competitions and were awarded diplomas of laureates, diplomas for the first, second place.
Teachers and students of the department "Design of the architectural environment" from the very beginning of the organization of the department for 20 years have been participating in a charitable Belarusian-German project for the Children's Republican Health Center "Nadezhda" and have been repeatedly awarded with Certificates of Appreciation and diplomas.
The department constantly takes part in events held by the Institute of Arts, Ethnagraphy and Folklore of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (Litvinova A.A., Ivanovskaya D.A., Vishnyakova E.N., Morozov E.V. and others)
Department cooperation . The department purposefully works to expand creative ties with architectural and art schools in different countries. The department cooperates with the Bialystok Polytechnic (Poland), the Florentine Faculty of Design of the Florentine Academy of Architecture, with the departments of "Design of the architectural environment" of Russia (Moscow Architectural Institute, Rostov State Aviation Institute, Kazan State Academy of Architecture, Ural State Academy of Arts (Yekaterinburg), etc.). In 2019 work was carried out on possible joint programs with the State University of Rome, with the University of Urbino, with the Rome University of Fine Arts.
In 2019 a joint scientific and creative project was successfully implemented: Belarus (Minsk) - Georgia (Tbilisi) - Russia (Kaliningrad), the conference "Regional Color Culture" in the on-lain mode.
Currently, the department actively cooperates with the universities of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan.
Cooperation with teachers of the Irkutsk National Research Technical University has resumed. More than 90 works of students and teachers of the department took part in the International Virtual Exhibition-Competition "Images and Signs of the City" and received 17 diplomas of the Laureate of I, II, III degrees and 43 diplomas of I, II, III. Litvinova A.A. was a member of the competition jury.
Department strategy. The department in its work pays great attention to the formation of the educational process for the training of new specialists for the Republic of Belarus - architects-designers, for the organization of the educational process of masters and graduate students in the field of architectural design.
The department has developed the concept of training specialists of higher education for architects-designers. Head of the Department "Design of the architectural environment" Litvinova A.A. is the head of the group of developers of the standard of the first, second and third generation of the Educational Standard of Higher Education for the specialty 1-69 01 02 "Architectural Design" (2008, 2013, 2018), the first, second generation of the Educational Standard of Higher Education (Second stage. Master) for specialties "Architectural design" (2013), "Architecture" profiling "Architectural design" (2018). Under her leadership, model and curricula for these specialties were developed. She was also a member of the group of developers of the standard of the first, the second and third generation of the Educational Standard of Higher Education for the specialty 1-69 01 01 "Architecture" (2008, 2013, 2018). All graduates in these specialties are in demand, distributed and successfully working.
The staff of the department developed and approved in the prescribed manner for the specialty 1-69 01 02 "Architectural design" and the specialty 1-69 01 01 "Architecture" training programs in all disciplines that go through the department, based on the approved curricula for 5 and 6 - years of study at the first stage, for specialties 1 69 80 01 "Architecture" profile "Architectural design", 1 69 80 01 "Architecture" profile "Architecture and urban planning" at the second stage (master's degree). Accordingly, new lecture and practical courses, assignments and guidelines for the implementation of educational and research work and architectural and design projects have been developed.
The starting and most important moment of the educational concept of architectural and design education is the idea of architectural design as a new type of plastic art, based on the traditions of architecture, using the possibilities of modern design to aesthetically enrich the architectural environment and environmentally optimize urbanized spaces.
The main concept of architectural and design education is based on the development of the traditions of the Belarusian architectural school - this is the theory of complex art-compositional and scientific-technical education on a common broad humanitarian basis. The second concept of architectural and design education is the need to form an architect-designer in two closely related plans - theoretical and practical.
The core of the professional training of architects-designers is the constant educational scientific and creative design work, which begins in the 1st year within the disciplines "Introduction to architectural design" and "Introduction to architectural design design", continues from the 1st semester of the 2nd course and further (3-5, 6 courses) within the discipline "Architectural and design design", and ends with the implementation of a graduation project or a graduation project with a developed research part.
Employees. Employees of the department take an active part in various creative teams in the development of large-scale design and scientific and creative design work, in artistic and graphic works; in republican, international seminars, conferences, symposiums, congresses, various kinds of creative competitions and exhibitions, often being members of their organizing committees. Almost all employees of the department are members of republican or international creative unions of architects, artists or designers. Among them there are laureates of international, republican competitions, exhibitions.
The former professor of the department, doctor of architecture, professor Agranovich-Ponomareva Evgenia Samoilovna, a member of the Belarusian Union of Architects, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus , laureate of the special award of the President of the Republic of Belarus, laureate of the National Festival of Architecture of the Republic of Belarus, academician of the Academy of Architecture of the Republic of Belarus, maintains cooperation with the department.
Great scientific, methodological, teaching work is carried out by the candidate of architecture, associate professor, member of the Council of the Belarusian Union of Architects, member of the Urban Planning Council of the Committee of Architecture of Minsk, professor of the International Academy of Architecture Galina Vladimirovna Polyanskaya.
Throughout the entire activity of the department, they actively and fruitfully make a great contribution to the training of future architects-designers and architects: Fadeeva R.V. (now leading information support engineer at CJSC Adwin Smart Factory, author of the concept of introducing innovative computer technologies, including BIM technologies in the architectural and architectural design educational process), Penkevich A.V. (Director of PROEKTSTROYKONSTRUKTSIYA LLC; chief consultant for the construction section of all graduation projects carried out at the department, reading the author's course "Restoration and reconstruction of architectural heritage" to senior students), Sakharova S.P. (chief specialist of the project of the UE "Institute" Minskgrado ", a well-known specialist in the field of urban planning, helping students to keep abreast of modern trends in the field of urban planning in the republic).
From the first day of the work of the State Examination Commission in the specialties of the first stage 1-69 01 02 "Architectural design", 1-69 01 01 "Architecture", the second stage (magistracy) 1-69 80 01 "Architecture" and 1-69 81 04 " Architectural design" until 2022. Oleg Arsenievich Vorobyov, director of Vorobyov and Partners LLC, Honored Architect of the Republic of Belarus, professor of the International Academy of Architecture of the Moscow branch, laureate of republican and international competitions, who, unfortunately, in the fall of 2021 passed away. The work of the SEC under his leadership, which at various stages included distinguished scientists, well-known professionals in the field of architecture, design, construction, has always been distinguished by high professionalism, constructiveness, respect for students, presenting their qualification papers for defense. Many of the graduates adequately follow the professional wishes of the Chairman - Vorobyov Oleg Arsenievich.
In 2022 the composition of the SEC was updated: Litvinova A.A., Polyanskaya G.V., Penkevich A.V., Petrov A.N., Vasiliev G.Yu. The work of the updated SEC was held at a high professional level under the leadership of the chairman of the SEC Lokotko A.I. - Director of the State Scientific Institution "Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Doctor of Architecture, Professor.
Invited teachers also make a worthy contribution to the work of the department. Among them are famous scientists, architects, artists, designers. Special mention should be made of the graduates of the department, who enthusiastically share their knowledge, gained experience in architectural, architectural and design design, successfully participate in course and diploma design: Lokotko A.A.
