BNTU experts developed a method for biomechanical testing of the skis physicomechanical parameters

Специалисты БНТУ разработали методику биомеханических испытаний физико-механических параметров лыж, о как!

In October 2018, the President of the Republic of Belarus A.G. Lukashenko initiated a project to produce domestic plastic skis "Telekhani". Experts from Belarusian National Technical University were engaged in the development of experimental ski models. “Sports Engineering” department specialists and the Science and Technology Park of the BNTU “Polytechnic” developed a method for biomechanical testing of the physicomechanical parameters of skis when interacting with snow support.

Twice in September and October 2019, postgraduate students of the “Sports Engineering” department  Dmitry Lukashevich, Pavel Belous and junior employee of the Science and Technology Park BNTU “Polytechnic”, international master of sports in biathlon Alexander Dorozhko went to the ski tunnel of the training center “Kavgolovo” for field tests of an experimental batch of skis. Based on the test results, the ski manufacturing technology was finalized and mass production began. In the first half of January 2020, by order of the Ministry of Education, the country's first 5 thousand pairs of plastic skis of 4 standard sizes were received at school institutions of the country. By the end of 2020, educational institutions will receive another 40 thousand pairs of plastic skis.

On January 23,  Associate Professor Vasyuk Valery Yevstafyevich was thanked by the Office of the President of the Republic of Belarus for cooperation in implementing an investment project to organize the production of domestic plastic skis. An award was awarded to the BNTU staff. The rector of the university, Kharitonchik Sergey Vasilievich, represented BNTU at a ceremony in the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Belarus.
