Researchers of the Department "History of Belarusian Statehood" BNTU, professors V.A. Bozhanov, L.N. Semenova and associate professors A.K. Dubovik, A.V. Panchenko, S.V. Bogoleisha took part and made reports at the IV International Congress of Historians, which was held on October 17–18, 2019 at the Institute of History of the NAS of Belarus.
About 200 historians from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania and other countries took part in the congress. At the opening ceremony of the congress, honorary guests addressed the participants with welcome words, among them the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus V.G. Gusakov, Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus V.Yu. Archakov, Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus I.V. Karpenko, Minister of Information of the Republic of Belarus A.N. Karlyukevich.
At the plenary session of the congress, nine reports were presented on the achievements, problems and prospects of the development of historical science in Belarus, on new directions and topics, on the teaching of history, on the place of historical memory in the concept of the Belarusian nation and national idea. Then the work of the congress took place in five sections:
1) “Belarusian lands in the period of the primitive era, the Middle Ages and early modern times”;
2) "Belarus at the end of the XVIII - beginning of the XXI century";
3) “Belarus in wars and military conflicts of the 19th – 20th centuries”;
4) “World History. International relationships";
5) “Special historical disciplines. History of science and teaching. ”
Within the framework of the congress, a round table was held dedicated to the 100th birthday of Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus I.N. Ignatenko.
