Yesterday, July 17, the Belarusian National Technical University closed accepting applications for state-funded programs. The exciting days of choosing, calculating scores, and consulting with faculty representatives are behind us. Now, for many, the most exciting period begins: summing up the results and waiting for admission orders. The names of those who will officially receive first-year status in September will be announced very soon.
However, the admissions campaign doesn't end there. If for some reason you doubt you'll qualify, missed your application deadline, or were originally planning to study on a fee-paying basis, now is the time to activate Plan B.
Option 1: Evaluating the possibility of studying on a fee-paying basis
Applications for fee-paying programs are still open. Applications from fee-paying applicants who do not take entrance examinations at BNTU are accepted until August 2.
Paid tuition at BNTU is an excellent opportunity to master a prestigious and in-demand specialty. It's important to remember that fee-paying students receive the same high level of knowledge and have absolutely equal opportunities to succeed in science, athletics, and student life.
Moreover, fee-paying students do not guarantee their entire studies. With high academic performance and active participation in university life, students have a real chance of receiving a tuition discount or even transferring to a state-funded place.
Option 2: Preparatory Department
There are situations when an applicant is determined to enroll only in a state-funded program or in a specific specialty and is ready to give it a try next year. In this case, don't waste time – consider the preparatory department and preparatory courses at BNTU. This is an excellent opportunity to systematically improve your school curriculum, delve deeper into specialized subjects, adapt to the university system early, and gain the knowledge base that will become your main advantage over other applicants in the next admissions campaign.
Coping with Emotions: How to Survive Failure Without Stress
Failure to secure a scholarship often becomes a source of intense stress. Disappointment and anxiety are completely natural reactions at such moments. While you shouldn't suppress your emotions, it's also not recommended to prolong your worries: give yourself time to process what happened, and then move on to planning your next steps.
