Today, on June 19, BNTU was visited by 1976 graduates. Each of them has different life paths, but they are all united by a 50-year-long friendship and love for alma mater.
So, Petr Parmon noted that in total their graduation was 120 people and all of them are still actively keeping in touch.
— We graduated from the specialty "road construction" 50 years ago. Everyone has gone through a certain path from craftsmen to big bosses. Unfortunately, age makes itself felt, we are not getting younger and there is no opportunity to meet the whole group. In total, we were 125 people, and graduated 120. We're still friends, we still talk on the phone, and we wish the same for all of you young people.
He also shared that he was involved in the construction of all the highways in Minsk, which he is very proud of.
Alexander Shereshik concluded that the happiest years of his life were his student years.
"The happiest years of my life were my student years, of course. Now, after so much time has passed, it's a pleasure to reunite with my classmates. It's a pity that some of them couldn't attend due to personal reasons, and I would have liked to see more of us. In my life, I ended up in my hometown of Slutsk. I still live and work there. I have established my own company for the improvement of farms and settlements. For me, this is the most important aspect of my life. The most memorable aspect of my student years is that I made very good friends, and we still remain friends today.
In turn, Alexander Fetnyayev said that many graduates went through production and science.
— Our teachers were top-class specialists. We had production practices every year. In particular, I had an internship at the construction of the Vilnius-Klaipeda highway. Many of us worked on projects in the Republic of Belarus, building the Minsk-Brest highway. We went from being craftsmen to becoming high-ranking managers. I have fond memories of the institute, and our friendship has lasted for 50 years. My student years were the best years of my life. Naturally, after the institute, a lot of people went into production. Vasily Sharapov, the first Minister of Construction and Roads of the Belarusian SSR, also came to our graduation and said that we should all try our best. This practice continued. Many of us went into production, and some also went into science.
The 1976 alumni reunion at BNTU was a vivid reminder that true friendship and loyalty to one's alma mater transcend time. Each of the participants has a long professional career behind them, but as noted by Pyotr Parmon and Alexander Shereshik, the main asset is their student years and the warm camaraderie they have shared for half a century.
