For those who are still thinking about choosing a future specialty, we continue to tell about the faculties of the Belarusian National Technical University.
Construction is one of the main branches of the national economy of the Republic of Belarus and plays an important role in socio-economic development. The main role of the construction industry is to create conditions for the dynamic development of the country's economy. One of the important links in this process is the training of personnel for the construction industry. BNTU and the Faculty of Construction (FC) in particular occupy a special place in the field of training personnel for the construction complex of the Republic of Belarus.
The Faculty of Construction actively cooperates with the Engineering and Technical Center of Belgazstroy OJSC, Minskmetroproekt OJSC, MAPID OJSC, and the Institute of Housing-NIPTIS. Atayeva S.S.», RUE «Institute BelNIIS», RUE «Stroitekhnorm», the management company of the holding «Belarusian Cement Company». Every year, more than fifty students of the SF BNTU are organized training seminars, excursions and master classes on the basis of engineering and technical center SLOO «AluminTechno». Among the major enterprises that hire staff, there are OAO MAPID, OAO Stroytrest No. 35, OAO Stroytrest No. 4, OAO Stroytrest No. 1, OAO Minskproekt, OAO Minskgrajdanskproekt, and others. These enterprises actively recruit students not only for practical training, but also for work in their design and engineering services during their free time.

Sergey Kovshar, Dean of the Faculty of Construction, spoke about the development of the Faculty of Construction, the demand for its graduates, and new educational projects.
— The faculty's history spans over a century, dating back to the founding of the Belarusian National Technical University. Currently, the faculty offers three technical and two economic specialties. In 2025, the faculty will introduce a specialized program in "Management in the Investment and Construction Sector" for the advanced higher education program "Management" in English and Russian for Chinese citizens. The faculty also offers joint educational programs in the "2+2" format with the Tashkent State Transport University and the Tashkent State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (Republic of Uzbekistan) for two specialties.
The issue of graduates' employment is one of the important ones for the faculty. The dean shared this.
— Every year, the demand for training specialists on the basis of targeted training increases. In 2021, there were 3 target students at the faculty, in 2022, there were 8 target students, in 2024, there were 18 target students, in 2025, there were 37 target students, and in 2026, there are plans to recruit about 80 target students. The faculty provides 100% distribution of graduates. The number of applications is usually 1.5-2 times higher than the number of students subject to distribution. The main distribution points are construction and design organizations, enterprises for the production of construction products and structures, cadastral agencies, capital construction management, housing and communal services enterprises, and others.
To keep up with the times, lectures are not enough. Therefore, the faculty has modern equipment and is actively developing cooperation with foreign educational institutions.
— The material and technical base of the departments ensures a high-quality educational process. The Faculty of Civil Engineering has cooperation agreements with universities of the People's Republic of China (Qingdao University of Technology and Tongji University) in the field of education and science, ensuring the development of bilateral cooperation through the implementation of joint activities and programs in the field of student mobility, faculty exchanges, international joint research projects and university research cooperation projects, seminars, conferences, symposiums and other educational and scientific events, and the exchange of educational and scientific literature.

— The main advice for applicants in the current admissions campaign is to follow a strict algorithm, assess your chances objectively, and have a backup plan if possible. Mistakes made in a rush or due to a lack of attention to the admission rules can cost you a whole year. If you are applying for engineering and construction programs, pay special attention to the basic faculties. They provide universal knowledge that is in demand in the civil, transportation, and energy sectors, — said the dean of the Faculty of Construction.

Following the trends of training civil engineers, the Faculty of Civil Engineering actively participates in international competitions organized by JSC Atomenergoproekt, the National Association of Surveyors and Designers "NOPRIZ". In 2022, the faculty became the winner of the international educational project "BIM-Management: Stream II" in the category "Best Higher Education Institution". In 2023 and 2025, students of the Faculty of Construction participated in the V and VI Republican ProfSkills Competition, where they won first place in the category "Building Design Technologies (BIM)".

Outside of their studies, construction students also know how to make a name for themselves. At the BNTU Spring Festival 2026, they won a third-degree diploma in the STEM competition, proving that they have a sense of humor and stage presence. Anton Lakiza, a student from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, won the title of "Vice-Mr. BNTU 2026," demonstrating that future engineers possess incredible charisma.

Their athletic achievements are equally impressive. In the Battle of Faculties 2025, the construction faculty was the first in mini-football, the second in tug-of-war, and the third in table tennis. Team spirit and the will to win are not just words here; they are tested on the sports field.

Each faculty at BNTU has its own history, traditions, achievements, and personalities. We continue to introduce you to them in order to help you find the right field of study that will allow you to express yourself both professionally and creatively.
