Today, July 2, on the eve of Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus, a flower-laying ceremony was held at the monument-stele to the students and faculty of the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute who died during the Great Patriotic War.
The event was attended by BNTU Rector Sergey Kharitonchik, Vice-Rector for Ideological and Educational Work Timur Matyushinetz, Head of the Center for Ideological Work and Youth Affairs Irina Gud, Secretary of the BRSM Public Organization with the rights of the BNTU RK Rodion Fedorovich, Chairman of the Primary Student Trade Union Organization Maxim Kulik, Deputy Chairman of the BNTU Student Council Roman Golub, employees, as well as students involved in construction teams, and university activists.
Ceremony participants honored the heroes with a moment of silence and laid flowers at the monument-stele. This tradition, maintained at BNTU for many years, serves as a reminder of the connection between generations and the continuity of memory. Thus, on the eve of the main national holiday, students and university staff paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives to protect the country's future.
