How to get a discount on tuition at BNTU in the 2026/27 academic year?

For students enrolled in fee-paying programs, the state has established the terms and conditions for providing discounts and transferring them to tuition paid for by the national budget (Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 126 of February 28, 2006, "On Certain Issues of Obtaining Higher and Secondary Specialized Education on a Fee-Based Basis" and Clause 2 of Article 26 of the Education Code of the Republic of Belarus). This article explains who is eligible for tuition discounts and the documents required to receive them.

Discount Procedure and Deadlines

Tuition discounts and their amounts are available to students and pupils specified in subparagraph 1.2 of Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 126 of February 28, 2006. The table lists the categories of students and pupils, as well as the discount percentage for each.

Those who have completed compulsory military service and have received recommendations from military units or border service agencies for study at educational institutions;

The specific amount of discounts for students and pupils specified in paragraph 2 of the Decree depends on their GPA for the academic year and may not exceed 60 percent of the established tuition fee for the academic year.

The GPA for the academic year is determined as the arithmetic mean of the grades received during the academic year based on the results of two midterm assessments, rounded to the nearest tenth.

Discounts for students and pupils specified in paragraphs 3-10 of the Decree are provided subject to their achieving at least 6 (six) points in all academic subjects, academic (general education) disciplines, modules, and practical training for the current academic year based on the results of two midterm assessments:

40 percent – ​​for students and pupils specified in paragraphs 3-8 and 10 of the Decree;
60 percent – ​​for students and pupils specified in paragraph 9 of the Decree.

Discounts for students and pupils are granted based on the decision of a commission established by order of the head of the educational institution. The commission is headed by the head of the educational institution (commission chair).

Discounts are granted beginning in the second year of study, from September 1 until the end of the academic year.

Discounts for students and pupils are canceled in the event of:

receiving unsatisfactory grades on midterm assessments;
violating internal regulations for students or public order.

Important! Please check with your faculty dean's office for current deadlines for submitting documents for review by the faculty working committee.

The committee will make a decision on whether to grant discounts to students by September 1, 2026.

Required Documents

List of documents confirming the basis for granting a discount on the established tuition fee to students:

An application, certified by the dean's office seal, addressed to the BNTU Rector;

In accordance with paragraph 2 of clause 1.2 of the Decree:

An extract/copy of the student's academic record showing the results of two midterm assessments for the current academic year;
A copy of the student's grade book indicating the results of two midterm assessments for the current academic year;
Specific information on academic performance for the academic year preceding the transfer, indicating that exams and tests were passed within the established deadlines;
Total number of grades;
The number of grades for each point (grades must be at least a 6);
The percentage of grades of 9 and 10;
The average grade point average.
A student reference, signed by the dean of the faculty, which must include the results of the student's research and community service activities;
Documents confirming high research performance (copies of completed work, participation in scientific conferences, etc.) and community service activities (certificate of achievement in community service).

In accordance with paragraphs 3-10 of clause 1.2 of the Decree:

An extract/copy of the student's academic record showing the student's academic performance based on the results of two midterm assessments for the current academic year;
A copy of the student's transcript showing the results of two midterm assessments for the current academic year (the number of grades for each point; grades must be at least 6, indicating that the exams and tests were completed on time);
a student reference signed by the dean of the faculty;
a copy of a document confirming eligibility for a discount for other categories of students in accordance with the Decree.
