Do the right thing: the Faculty of Instrument Engineering

Поступай правильно: приборостроительный факультет

Today, we are talking about the Faculty of Instrument Engineering (FIE), a place where technology is born.

What is the Faculty of Instrument Engineering like?

Today, about 1,400 students are studying at the Faculty of Instrument Engineering: about 900 in the full-time department and almost 500 in the part-time department. But the main wealth of the Faculty is its teaching staff. 90 highly qualified teachers pass on their experience to students. Among them are 19 doctors of science and professors, including 2 academicians and 1 corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, as well as 46 candidates of science and associate professors. Such a staff potential allows the faculty to confidently maintain its leadership in training the country's engineering elite.

Dean of the faculty, Alexander Svistun, believes that choosing a profession is the first serious step towards independent life, and engineers play a special role in this process.

"Choosing a profession is the first truly great opportunity to become the author of your own future. Engineers have a special role here: they create the world we will live in tomorrow, from smart cities to space technologies. The Faculty of Instrument Engineering is a place where bold ideas turn into real projects. Here, you will find not only lectures and laboratories, but also student research laboratories, internships at leading companies and abroad, your first own developments, and people who will become lifelong friends," the dean emphasized.

The PSF implements educational programs in close cooperation with leading industrial enterprises and academic centers. Among the key partners who order personnel are the giants of the Belarusian instrument-making industry: OAO Peleng, OAO INTEGRAL – the management company of the INTEGRAL holding, OAO Planar, BelOMO holding, UP STC LEMT BelOMO, BelGIM, BelGISS, OAO Minsk Research Institute of Radio Materials, as well as the institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. This collaboration ensures that the curricula are always up-to-date, and that students are immersed in real-world production challenges from the very beginning of their studies.

A word of advice to prospective students

— Choose the engineering path and a future that can truly be changed for the better. We believe in you and look forward to welcoming you into our large family of students.

Student life at the faculty

The Faculty of Instrument Engineering is famous not only for its scientific activities. The achievements of the 2024/25 academic year earned the Faculty of Instrument Engineering an honorable first place in the BNTU's best faculty competition. This is a confirmation of the high level of organization of the educational process and extracurricular activities.

Creative life is in full swing at the faculty: students regularly take part in large-scale events, such as the BNTU Spring Festival, the Best Study Group competition, dialogue platforms and international meetings. This year, the Faculty of Instrument Engineering took the honorable second place in the BNTU Spring Festival among all faculties. Also, the group 11307124 PSF became the best group of BNTU in 2026.

The Faculty of Instrument Engineering at BNTU is waiting for those who are ready not just to use technology, but to create it. If you want to build a solid foundation for a successful career, have the freedom to choose, and feel confident in the future, then choose the right path. Apply to the Faculty of Instrument Engineering and remember that BNTU is the choice of the best!
