On Saturday, on June 27, the BNTU hosted a meeting of graduates of the specialty "Economics and Construction Organization" of the Faculty of Engineering and Economics in 1986.
As the graduates noted, the university's educational program provided them with the opportunity to work in various professional fields. In the course of their studies, they acquired a significant amount of knowledge and practical experience, which proved to be extremely useful in their workplaces.
Irina Karpovich, having a wealth of experience, has successfully worked in various fields.: construction, banking, and healthcare. Her professionalism and broad outlook were the result of her studies at the university.
— After graduation, she worked in three industries. She worked as a leading economist in construction, then went into the banking sector, where she worked as chief accountant at the branch of JSC ASB Belarusbank, then as head of the planning and economic department of the central district hospital, and retired from this position. During our studies, we were taught how to use literature and talked about not having to memorize everything, but being able to use sources. This has brought great benefits, because it has allowed me to join different industries, study regulatory documents and work in leading positions.
Most of all, Irina Karpovich remembered potato trips, hiking trips and a student disco during her student years.
— Most of all, I remember the potato trips: the whole September, we worked, rested, and it was interesting. There were several groups of buses, and everything was fine. They thought that they needed to help, and no one thought that it was difficult, unnecessary, or possible to stay at home. They helped in agriculture. We also went hiking. Our guys even organized a city disco in the dormitory. It was very rare in those days. We were given a basement in the dormitory, we bought equipment, there was also light music, and we went to discos there. After graduation, when mobile communication appeared, we organized a general chat. We communicate through him. Among other things, we call up former roommates in the dorm, congratulate each other on their birthday, find out who had a good life and what the latest news is.
In turn, Sergey Yankovich, after graduation, worked at the State Unitary Enterprise Zabudova Plant of Building Structures, the executive committee of the district council of the city of Lida, and subsequently created his own company.
— He worked as a distribution officer at the State Unitary Enterprise "Plant of Building Structures" of JSC Zabudova in the city of Lida, but for less than three years. Then they took me to the Komsomol district committee on a Komsomol trip. . Subsequently, he went to his loaves. I opened a company with friends and still work there. The company provides services for cars. In 1996, they took land in the area near the highway. A car wash, a gas station, a tire service, a car repair shop and a cafe were built there. It's all been working so far. At university, I developed the ability to learn. Education also gave us the opportunity to engage in analytics: to clearly assess the possibilities, what is possible, what is impossible, what you can pull, what you can't pull.
44 years later, Sergey Yankovich remembers passing the entrance exams and how he met a lot of his classmates.
— Admission is a very vivid memory. Classes on passing exams were organized in the BNTU Scientific Library. I remember many of them right from the first exam: my classmates, whom I studied with later at the institute. For four years I studied in the Druzhba folk dance ensemble. There was a large hall in the eighth building. We practiced twice a week for three hours. We were very seriously engaged and performed. In 1985, we went to Moscow for the festival of youth and students, and performed at the opening. I have fond memories of studying at the university. It was our youth.
The 1986 alumni meeting showed that the education received at BNTU remains a reliable foundation for life. The main thing that the participants took with them was a warm memory of their student years and friendship.
