Yesterday, May 26, 2026, the 3rd scientific and technical conference, dedicated to the Year of the Belarusian Woman, was held at Mingaz OJSC. The event served as an important platform for exchanging experiences between representatives of industry, academia, and universities.
Representatives from the Faculty of Power Engineering, the Faculty of Instrumentation Engineering of the Belarusian National Technical University, and the Research Polytechnic Institute (BNTU branch) participated in the section "Operation of Gas Supply and Distribution Systems, Study of Innovations and Scientific Approaches in Their Development."
Victor Kusyak, Director of the Research Polytechnic Institute, presented a report on "A Laboratory Complex for Studying the Processes of Elastoplastic Deformation of Materials and Measuring Their Mechanical Properties Using Instrumented Indentation." A live demonstration of the laboratory complex was also provided to relevant specialists and conference participants.
This complex was developed, manufactured, and implemented in the real sector this year by staff from the Semiconductor Technology Research Laboratory in collaboration with the Laboratory of Contact-Dynamic Testing Methods at the Institute of Applied Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The laboratory complex's hardware and software platform enables high-precision measurements of the mechanical properties of materials at the microlevel without damaging them, as well as the study of deformation processes in materials and products. The use of this development is particularly important for companies in the oil and gas industry, where non-destructive testing methods and high diagnostic accuracy are in demand.
The presentation and in-person demonstration of the measuring complex's capabilities generated keen interest among specialists and paved the way for the commercialization of this innovative development at Mingaz OJSC's operating facilities.
The conference once again confirmed the high potential for collaboration between BNTU and industry organizations in implementing advanced scientific solutions in the real economy.
