On May 15, 2026, the Department of Theoretical Mechanics and Mechanics of Materials organized and held an Olympiad on Strength of Materials (Mechanics of Materials) as part of the International Youth Forum "Creativity and Innovation 2026." Ninety-one first- and second-year students from various faculties of BNTU participated in the Olympiad. In addition to Belarusian students, students from Zimbabwe and Equatorial Guinea studying at BNTU participated, allowing the Olympiad to be qualified for international status.
Head of the Department of Theoretical Mechanics and Mechanics of Materials Dr. Eugen Krushevski, welcomed the Olympiad participants, which were held in Room 450 of the main building (and almost every seat was taken!) with opening remarks.
Olympiad participants were presented with interesting and challenging engineering problems involving the calculation of structural elements. Many students demonstrated excellent knowledge, a high level of subject preparation, and creative abilities.
The most active participants were students from the Civil Engineering and Instrumental Engineering faculties, who shared the entire podium between them.
As a result, the following students took prize places:

All of them were awarded Diplomas, and the three best received valuable prizes.
The jury headed by the Professor Alexander Dudyak, thanks all Olympiad participants, congratulate the winners, and wish them further success in their studies and scientific activity.
The staff of the Department of Theoretical Mechanics and Mechanics of Materials took an active part in the preparation and holding of the Olympiad: senior lecturers Svetlana Goncharova, Zhanna Dikan , engineer Anastasia Prudnikova, as well as associate professor of the Department of Mathematical Methods in Construction Elena Evseeva.
