On May 12, 2026, the 26th International Exhibition for Equipment, Instruments and Tools for the Metalworking Industry – “METALLOOBRABOTKA” opened in Moscow, Russia. Running since 1984, this event is recognized as the largest project in the machine tool and processing industry across Russia and the CIS.
This year, METALLOOBRABOTKA has integrated the Rusweld and Technoforum exhibitions. The Rusweld cluster will showcase welding technologies and equipment, while Technoforum covers additive manufacturing, foundry equipment, heat treatment, metal structures, storage systems, industrial logistics, ecology and design, as well as tooling, components, and cutting fluids. As a result, METALLOOBRABOTKA-2026 has evolved into a comprehensive industrial platform covering the entire production cycle – from material design to the final product.
Spanning over 80,000 square meters, visitors can see equipment in action – from heavy metal-cutting machines to robotic complexes and AI-driven production control systems. More than 1,200 companies from eight countries are participating in 2026: Belarus, China, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Russia, South Korea, and Turkey. National pavilions from Belarus, Russia, and Turkey are also on display.

Context. Metalworking is a key sector in Russia, influencing the entire industrial landscape. The stability and efficiency of this segment directly affect equipment production, infrastructure construction, and vehicle manufacturing. In recent years, attention to this industry has surged due to shifting economic conditions, active domestic production growth, and the need to reduce reliance on foreign suppliers.
After 2022, Russian enterprises faced an acute demand for domestic manufacturing capacity. Metal as a raw material and processing services became critically important for both civilian and state projects – particularly in machine building, bridge construction, energy, and defense. The need for high-quality, rapid part processing has grown, competition among enterprises has intensified, and this directly impacts pricing and delivery times.
Beyond economics, technical modernization plays a vital role. Modern standards demand high precision and durability, unattainable without advanced metalworking technologies. Thus, the future demand for these services depends not only on economic forecasts but also on how well enterprises adapt to new technological challenges.

METALLOOBRABOTKA-2026 places strong emphasis on science and education. The exhibition traditionally features stands from leading Russian universities: Moscow State University of Technology “STANKIN”, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Saint-Petersburg State Marine Technical University, National University of Science and Technology MISIS, MIREA — Russian Technological University, and National Research University “Moscow Power Engineering Institute”, among others.
The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus is presenting around 20 innovative developments. The Belarusian collective stand, organized by the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU), showcases innovations from BNTU (including its Science and Technology Park “Polytechnic”), Belarusian State University, and Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel.
The exhibition’s business program focuses on applied industrial challenges and strategic development. More than 40 events are planned – from plenary sessions and strategic meetings to case seminars – featuring 280 speakers and moderators.
