The Instrumentation Engineering Faculty at BNTU's Open Day: lectures, workshops, and excursions

Приборостроительный факультет на дне открытых дверей БНТУ: лекции, мастер-классы, экскурсии

The main part of the Belarusian National Technical University's Open Day, which took place on March 21, 2026, took place near the main building. The Instrument Engineering Faculty (IEF) was represented by Dean Alexander Svistun and Deputy Deans Sergei Monich and Igor Servachinsky. Pavel Serenkov, Head of the Department of Standardization, Metrology, and Information Systems, and Andrei Tyavlovsky, Associate Professor of the Department of Information and Measurement Engineering and Technology, also actively participated in the event.

Students from the faculty were particularly active and volunteered. Students from group 11305124, Daniil Talayko and Violetta Krivopust, and students from group 11312124, Stanislav Burak, Ilya Tverdov, and Evgeny Tambolsky, participated in organizing and running the open day. Their lively interaction with the guests helped create an atmosphere of openness and friendliness.

An important part of the program was interaction with personnel recruiters. Companies presented their exhibits and talked about targeted training opportunities. JSC Rudensk was represented by design engineers Alina Vyal and Ksenia Sharabayko. BelOMO's Scientific and Technical Center LEMT displayed a large display of its products, where research engineer Matvey Burdo and electronics engineer Anastasia Gribko answered questions from applicants and their parents. Vadim Mikulich, Deputy Head of HR at JSC Atlant, actively informed applicants about the specifics of targeted training.

An extensive program for prospective students unfolded in BNTU's Building 17. Guests enjoyed tours of laboratories and classrooms, presentations of specialties, and master classes for those specifically interested in applying to the instrument engineering faculty.

Elena Shcherbakova, Associate Professor of the Micro- and Nanoengineering Department, gave a general presentation of the PSF's specialties and profiles. Dmitry Balakhanov, Associate Professor of the Micro- and Nanoengineering Department, held a master class, "From Sand to Processor," which generated genuine popular science interest.

Andrey Savchenko, Head of the Instrument Design and Manufacturing Department, and Roman Vorobey, Head of the Information and Measurement Engineering and Technology Department, spoke in detail about their departments' specialties.

The diversity of the participants is especially noteworthy. That day, the faculty welcomed students from Minsk, Molodechno, Mozyr, Berezino, Svetlogorsk, Oshmyany, Dzerzhinsk, Pinsk, Slutsk, Rogachev, Borisov, Soligorsk, Novopolotsk, Baranovichi, and the village of Kopishche, highlighting the high interest in engineering education beyond Minsk.

The faculty's career guidance program placed a special emphasis on engineering students. Students, who are already learning the basics of technical disciplines in specialized classes, were able not only to learn about admission requirements but also to personally interact with department representatives, from students to department heads.

The Open Day was a shining example of systematic career guidance that combined science, industry, and live interaction. According to the applicants' parents, such events not only help them make an informed choice of major but also feel part of the extended BNTU engineering family.
