Blacksmithing, beekeeping, and weaving. Students from the Institute of Applied Physics visited the workshops of the Dudutki Museum Complex

Кузнечество, бортничество, ткачество. Студенты ИПФ побывали в мастерских музейного комплекса «Дудутки»

Students of the Faculty of Engineering and Pedagogy will remember the first day of spring in 2026 for a long time, as it was on March 1st that the faculty's student union organized a fascinating trip for the students to the Dudutki Museum Complex of Ancient Folk Crafts and Technologies.

For reference: The Dudutki Museum Complex is located 40 km from Minsk, in the Pukhovichi District. It is situated in a picturesque spot next to the Ptich River, one and a half kilometers from the village of Dudichi.

Early in the morning, the students departed Dormitory No. 16 to experience a true fairy tale. At the complex, the students were divided into teams, and the guides began their programs.

The entire complex contains small workshops, and everyone was able to find something to enjoy. The first stop was a clay workshop, where a master demonstrated and made a clay pot together with the students. Then came a weaving workshop. The young people learned about how women used to spin, and master Sergei demonstrated how he worked at a loom.

Bright sunshine, the pleasant scent of honey, and the students' unquenchable enthusiasm led them to the next beekeeping workshop. Next, the students went to the bakery, where they sampled bread and cheese made right in Dudutki.

The students especially enjoyed their next stop – the forge. Diana Lozyuk even tried her hand at being an apprentice. Together with master Igor, she crafted a small horseshoe, a lucky souvenir. The students also rode in a cart driven by Gloria, a 12-year-old horse, petted Fyodor, a long-eared donkey, and sampled a variety of traditional Belarusian dishes.

"We are very happy that the weather is so sunny on the first day of spring. Of course, we were delighted after visiting the museum complex. In each workshop, you can sense the warmth and care with which the masters work." "We especially enjoyed the huge number of animals on the Dududok grounds. We'll definitely be back," the students shared.

The three hours of the tour flew by. At the end, the students had free time to explore their favorite workshops and cafes. Everyone left the complex with a souvenir.

The faculty thanks the trip organizers and the students for the joyful and unforgettable experiences, as well as for the atmospheric and vibrant photographs.
