XX International Student Athletics Run Minsk – Nizhny Novgorod – Izhevsk
As part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, the Belarusian National Technical University organized and held the anniversary XX International Student Athletics Run Minsk – Nizhny Novgorod – Izhevsk. The race was given a grand start on the square near the main building of the BNTU on April 30, 2025. After that, the university delegation, consisting of employees and the most active students, set off on a journey that lasted nine eventful days — from May 1-9, 2025. During the route, the participants visited the cities of military glory, where they took part in commemorative rallies, thematic excursions and other events that allow them to experience the history of a common feat more deeply.
The culmination of the race was the arrival in Izhevsk, which was marked by a solemn rally and a ceremony of laying flowers on Victory Alley, as well as a traditional sports relay race. In a fierce competition, the students of the Belarusian National Technical University demonstrated outstanding teamwork and determination to win, securing the prestigious trophy.
This event was not just a sporting event, but a symbol of remembrance, generational continuity, and strength of spirit. The students, faculty, and alumni embarked on a journey filled with historical and spiritual significance, combining ideology, sports, and respect for the heroic past of their country. The formation of a civic mindset, respect for the history of their nation, the memory of heroes, and the modern state are integral parts of the educational mission of the BNTU.
Expanding the Geographical Composition of Students at BNTU
As a result of the 2025 admissions campaign, about 1,300 foreign citizens were admitted to the Belarusian National Technical University, marking a significant milestone in the internationalization strategy of the country's leading technical university. This effort, coordinated by the Faculty of International Cooperation, not only increased the size of the student body but also expanded its geographical reach to 60 countries in the near and far abroad, solidifying BNTU's status as a multicultural educational hub in a globalized world. The great work done in this area in 2025 allows us to unofficially characterize BNTU as the Belarusian Interethnic Technical University.
XIV Forum of Engineering and Technology Universities of the Union State of Russia and Belarus
From October 21 to 25, the XIV Forum of Engineering and Technology Universities of the Union State of Russia and Belarus was held at BNTU. The forum was divided into four sections: priority areas of scientific, scientific-technical, and innovative activities of universities in the Union State, development of engineering education in the Union State, youth innovative entrepreneurship, and patriotic education in engineering education in the Union State.
More than 300 people from more than 40 universities participated in the forum. The event program was filled not only with seminars, conferences, pitches and round tables, but also the venues for the section on patriotic education in engineering education of the Union State were the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, the historical and cultural complex “Stalin’s Line” and the country’s leading industrial enterprise – BELAZ.
The XIV Forum of Engineering and Technology Universities at BNTU became an important platform for moving from dialogue to concrete scientific and educational partnership within the Union State.

A record number of international students studying at BNTU
The past year was a historic one for the Belarusian National Technical University: for the first time in its 105-year history, the total number of foreign students studying at the university and its educational programs in various countries around the world exceeded 6,000. This unprecedented milestone is a testament to the global recognition of the university's engineering education quality and the successful implementation of its strategy for exporting educational services. This breakthrough is a result of years of systematic efforts to develop partner programs and actively implement modern teaching formats. It is also pleasing to note that in 2025, about 1,500 foreign citizens successfully graduated from BNTU at all levels of study. This was the largest foreign graduation from the alma mater in the history of BPI-BGPA-BNTU.
Active interaction with foreign partners
Over the year, BNTU actively interacted with more than 300 foreign delegations, meeting both in person and online. Discussions with partners from Asia, Africa, Europe, and the CIS were focused on launching joint educational programs, implementing scientific projects, and organizing academic exchanges.
This approach to organizing meetings has opened up new opportunities for the university to strengthen and develop its international relations. The meetings, both in-person and online, have led to the conclusion of new cooperation agreements, the organization of internships for foreign and Belarusian scientists and professors, and the coordination of joint research projects in promising economic sectors.
As part of BNTU's active collaboration with foreign partners, a number of events were held in 2025, including: On September 5, 2025, a delegation from BNTU participated in a closed meeting of members of the China-SCO Innovation Center for Postgraduate Education and signed agreements on the establishment of a joint faculty of Chinese technology with Northeast University in Harbin. Additionally, on October 14, 2025, the "Intelligent Manufacturing" section was organized as part of the Third Meeting of the China-Belarus University Association at the Belarusian National Technical University.
Every year, BNTU actively organizes summer and winter schools at BNTU, and thanks to the active cooperation between the Belarusian National Technical University and Northeastern University, a summer camp for Polytechnic students is held in China.
Providing comfortable accommodation for foreign citizens
Over the past year, the Belarusian National Technical University has provided comprehensive support and comfortable accommodation for more than 2,000 foreign students and applicants, who are accommodated in 10 specialized dormitories. This work has become an important part of the university's strategy to create favorable conditions for students from more than 60 countries around the world, which contributes to their successful adaptation and integration into the educational process and cultural environment.
Providing high-quality and safe accommodation is a key element of the infrastructure support for the international activities of BNTU. A systematic approach to accommodating foreign citizens, including modern living conditions, necessary administrative assistance, and the organization of social events on campus, directly contributes to strengthening the university's positive image in the global educational arena and meets the best international standards for working with foreign students.
Academic Mobility
In 2025, the international activity of the Belarusian National Technical University resulted in the placement of approximately 500 Belarusian students abroad and the assignment of more than 150 university employees to countries in the near and far abroad.
The organization of internships, seminars, and academic exchanges for such a significant number of students and staff not only contributes to their professional growth and integration into the global scientific community, but also directly enhances the export potential of the university's educational programs.
Increase in the university's export revenue
In 2025, the Belarusian National Technical University achieved early fulfillment of the plan for the most important economic indicator, the export of educational services. Over the past six years, the university's export revenue has increased by more than five times, reaching an all-time high in the university's history.
It should be noted that attracting foreign students not only provides an opportunity to earn foreign currency for the country, but also expands international relations, enhances the prestige of the university as a whole, and strengthens the recognition of our diplomas abroad. Therefore, ensuring the fulfillment of the set export targets for educational services has become a top priority for all universities in the country, and the success of these efforts will determine the prestige of the national education system in the world and the overall reputation of our country abroad.
It should be noted that this significant financial success was made possible by the systematic efforts of the BNTU to expand the geography of international student enrollment, develop a network of foreign partnerships, and actively implement modern teaching methods.
Summing up the "golden ten" of key events, 2025 can rightfully be considered a strategic milestone in the history of the Belarusian National Technical University, a year of reaching a qualitatively new level of global recognition and authority. Large-scale international initiatives, record-breaking indicators in education export, and unprecedented expansion of the geography of cooperation consolidate the status of BNTU as one of the leading and dynamically developing technical universities in the international educational arena.
