BNTU students are undergoing summer internships at leading enterprises in Belarus

Обучающиеся БНТУ проходят летнюю практику на ведущих предприятиях Беларуси

Summer for BNTU students is not only a long-awaited vacation, but also a time of professional development. The familiarization and production practice is in full swing, which allows future engineers to immerse themselves in real work processes.

2nd year student of the Faculty of Energy Construction Anton Kharevich was undergoing an introductory internship at the Minskvodokanal State Enterprise. For a second-year student who has chosen the specialty “Engineering networks, equipment of buildings and structures. Water supply, sewage disposal and protection of water resources,” this is the first serious step into the profession.

“This is our first opportunity to see how the facilities that provide water to the city and are responsible for sewage disposal actually work,” Anton shared.

Despite the fact that it takes a lot of time to get to some of the facilities, the experience has been extremely positive. The students' schedule is quite busy:

– Every day, we travel to a new location, where the company's leading specialists explain the equipment and the nuances of the technological processes in detail. Our mentor is very helpful, making the tours not only informative but also exciting.

In a short period of time, the students visited the control rooms, the Shchomyslitsa pumping station, the No. 19 sewage pumping station, the snow-plowing station, and the Petrovshchina and Zelenovka water intakes. The last one was the most memorable for Anton.

“It was very interesting to learn that the water here is extracted from artesian wells and is so clean that it does not require additional water treatment. It is at such facilities that you realize that behind the water that comes out of your faucet, there is a lot of work done by many specialists,” said Anton Karevich.

Anton is convinced that practical experience is invaluable, allowing you to see the relevance and modernity of your chosen field.

Vladislav Fedorov, a second-year student at the Faculty of Instrument Engineering, has a completely different focus. After the second year, he completed an industrial (medical) internship at the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Cardiology. His specialty, biomedical engineering, is at the intersection of engineering and healthcare.

"Our specialty is relevant and socially significant. It was interesting to visit the departments and observe the medical equipment available at the facility, studying its design and operation," said Vladislav Fedorov.

For a student, this internship is a chance to see the high-tech equipment at the cardiology center and understand how diagnostic and treatment equipment works.

– I believe that knowledge takes on a real form when you encounter technology that affects the lives of patients. It was interesting to see and study the products and devices we learned about in lectures and practical sessions.

Summer internships at BNTU are an essential part of the professional development of future engineers. We are confident that the practical experience gained during these internships will serve as a solid foundation for their successful careers and contribute significantly to the industry and social sector of our country.
