Friendship and cooperation visit: delegation of the Chinese embassy visited the hostel 18 BNTU

On 17 July 2026, the student dormitory 18 of Belarusian National Technical University (Dzerzhinsky Ave., 83/16) received honorary guests. With an official visit the complex was visited by a delegation of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus.

Symbolically, this modern facility was built at the expense of a grant-in-aid from China. The purpose of the meeting was to familiarize oneself with the created infrastructure, the living conditions created for resident students, discuss adaptation issues of Chinese learners and strengthen bilateral interaction.

The delegation of the Chinese Embassy included:

  • Jiang Xiaolin - Head of the Trade and Economic Affairs Department of the Embassy;
  • Ma Yue - Attaché.

On the part of the BNTU leadership, guests were met:

  • Yakushenko Xenia Valentinovna - Vice Rector for Scientific Work;
  • Matyushinets Timur Vladimirovich - Vice-rector for ideological and educational work;
  • Alexeyenko Vasily Anatolyevich - Vice Chancellor;
  • Tsando Vitaly Vladimirovich - head of BNTU student campus;
  • Shirvel Pavel Ivanovich - Dean of the International Cooperation Faculty (ICF);
  • Lazuko Yekaterina Viktorovna - Deputy Dean for ideological and educational work of the ICF;

Also actively participated in the meeting BNTU students from among the citizens of the PRC living in the dormitory, including the chairman and members of the Chinese League in BNTU.

Representatives of the BNTU administration conducted a detailed tour of the apartment complex for diplomats. The guests studied in detail the entire internal infrastructure of the building, which was designed for maximum comfort of students. They inspected modern apartment blocks, self-preparation rooms, laundries, recreation areas and sports locations. Diplomats paid particular attention to safety conditions, quality of services and leisure organization for young people.

he BNTU Vice Rectors emphasized that international education and security of foreign citizens are one of the priorities for the university. Representatives of the International Cooperation Faculty spoke about the system of sociocultural adaptation in place, which helps Chinese students to quickly enter the academic process and the public life of the university on the basis of the established infrastructure.

A key part of the visit was informal communication between diplomats and their compatriots. The President and members of the People’s Republic of China in BNTU shared their academic successes, shared their hobbies and thanked the university leadership for the homely atmosphere in the dormitory, as well as for the opportunity to prepare for high-quality training sessions and sports events.

The head of the department for trade and economic issues of the PRC embassy Jiang Xiaolin and the attaché Ma Yue highly appreciated the level of care of the university towards students and the excellent state of the material and technical base. They called on young people to diligently learn their chosen specialties, respect the laws of the Republic of Belarus and be active agents of Belarusian-Chinese friendship.

The meeting took place in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and ended with a constructive discussion of joint plans for the future. The parties have identified new vectors of interaction aimed at expanding cultural ties, conducting joint activities and further improving conditions for comprehensive development of Chinese students in BNTU.

This visit confirmed the high status of the partnership between BNTU and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus, becoming a clear example of successful implementation of joint landmark projects, strengthening of the Belarusian-Chinese friendship and all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership.
