Responding to the challenges of the time: new specialties and profiles have been opened at the Polytechnic University

Ответ на вызовы времени: новые специальность и профилизации открыты в Политехе

In a rapidly changing world and the rapid development of technology, higher education plays a key role in training professionals who are able to adapt to new challenges and demands of the labor market. The answer to current challenges is new specialties and profiles for future engineers, which will be opened at the Polytechnic in 2025.

Specialty "Environmental audit and environmental quality assurance"

A new specialty "Environmental Audit and Environmental Quality Assurance" has been opened at the Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering.

Form of study: full-time.

Duration of study: 4 years.

 Future specialist's qualifications: engineer, ecologist.

Upon admission, applicants take the CE, CT in mathematics, physics, and Belarusian (Russian) language.

Graduates will be able to work as heads of structural technical departments, environmentalists in the Department of environmental protection at enterprises, research institutions, information centers and environmental organizations, specialists of certification bodies, auditors of national and international certification bodies (with additional training and internships), teachers in educational institutions.

Specialization "technical operation of hydraulic, pneumatic machines and drives (service engineering)"

The specialty "hydro pneumo systems of mobile and technological machines and equipment" has a new specialization "technical operation of hydraulic, pneumatic machines and drives (service engineering)" (Automotive and  Tractor Faculty).

A service engineer is a specialist responsible for the maintenance, repair, modernization and technical support of hydraulic, pneumatic machines and drives.

Profiling of the "control system for unmanned complexes"

The specialty "information measuring devices and systems" of the Faculty of Instrument Engineering was supplemented by the specialization "control systems for unmanned systems". The main areas of specialist training are the design, manufacture and operation of electronic control systems for unmanned complexes, including autopilots, navigation, communication and data transmission systems.

Specialized specialists will be able to work at enterprises developing unmanned complexes and electronic components for them, as well as in organizations operating complexes in high-tech sectors of the economy.

Specialization "engineering geodesy"

The engineering geodesy specialization was opened in the geodesy specialty of the Faculty of Transport Communications. This is a specialization in the field of geodesy, focused on performing engineering and geodetic work related to the construction, design, operation and reconstruction of various facilities.

The main directions of engineering geodesy:

  • geodetic surveys – surveying the area, creating topographic maps and plans for design;
  • center work – transfer of the project to the area, determination of the exact location of structures;
  • deformation control and monitoring of structures – monitoring the stability of buildings, bridges, dams;
  • executive survey – verification of compliance of constructed objects with design data;
  • geodetic support of construction – ensuring the accuracy of all stages of work.

We wish success to applicants in the admission campaign – 2025.
