The Scientific Library of the Belarusian National Technical University received a special diploma for participation in the competition for the best library event for the popularization of science and technology and digital education of the population, held within the framework of the "Youth Week of Digital Technologies" (November 26 – December 2, 2023).
The winners were announced at the closing ceremony of the All-Russian Library Congress "Library in a Multipolar World". More than 300 libraries from the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Kyrgyz Republic took part in the competition for the best library event for the popularization of science and technology and digital education of the population, presenting more than 350 projects. According to the results of the competition, five diplomas were awarded, including a special diploma received by the BNTU Scientific Library for its participation in the event. In addition to the diploma the winners received a smart speaker as a gift.
As part of the "Youth Week of Digital Technologies", the BNTU Scientific Library organized a series of lectures entitled "Artificial Intelligence Factory: create your own AI bot for work and leisure. The goal is to introduce visitors with the capabilities of artificial intelligence (AI) and teach them how to create their own AI bots for various purposes: from a professional guide for writing scientific papers to a club leader and a personal psychologist.
The lectures were conducted in an interactive form using demonstrations, practical tasks and games so that participants could experience and understand the principles of AI. The participants learned about existing services and applications in the field of AI, the work of basic algorithms and AI models, the creation and configuration of their AI bots using various platforms and tools.
This achievement is an important step towards popularizing science and technology among young people and underscores the importance of the role of libraries in providing access to information and education in the digital age.
