The National Library of Belarus has become a platform for the exchange of experience, building long-term relationships and discussing world-important issues in the automotive industry.

Expressing the gratitude to all the participants of the congress, the rector of the Belarusian National Technical University Sergei Kharytonchyk spoke about the main objectives of the congress.

“We are honored to host the 16th European Automotive Congress. Despite the fact that the congress is European, the interest in the congress is expressed from the countries of America, Asia and Africa. This is undoubtedly an indicator of the successful development of the national automobile industry. Our goal is to accept new challenges and find the answers to them through the cooperation with various countries and companies. During the congress the new challenges that face the global automotive industry, the answers of engineers and global changes will be discussed. We have something to learn, and there is also something to teach. Only joint efforts can contribute to the development and improvement of the latest information for the benefit of our society, which is why the motto of our congress is "All Together into the Future!"

The Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Igor Vasilievich Karpenko became an honored guest of the opening ceremony. On behalf of the Ministry of Education, Igor Vasilievich wished the participants of the forum a great working mood, fruitful meetings and also the establishing of a long-term contacts.

“Modern person cannot imagine himself without a car. The scale of the influence on the world economy is second only to the oil industry. For the the Republic of Belarus, this topic is a relevant one: we produce various types of automotive equipment, have a wide distribution infrastructure and logistics. Today Minsk Automobile Plant, Minsk Tractor WorksZ, Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant, BelAZ, Amkodor are recognizable Belarusian brands. BelAZ equipment works on all continents and occupies 1/3 of the world market of heavy-duty mining trucks, and in the load capacity class of 130 tons it holds all 90% of the world market.

In this regard, it isn't a coincidence that the congress is holding in Belarus. We can make it an effective platform for discussion, as we understand the main trends and prospects for the development of the global automotive industry and transport activities. In addition, our experts objectively assess the modern challenges of the automotive industry, and, first of all, this is the improving of safety, reducing the environmental damage, and the implementation of innovations. The need for new knowledge and new ideas is growing.

Leading Belarusian universities are successfully implementing the “University 3.0” project based on the concentration of unique equipment, highly qualified personnel and entrepreneurial initiative at universities. The universities themselves are the key providers of the innovations.

Dear participants, I sincerely hope that you are effectively using the opportunity for a mutually beneficial exchange of the experience and technologies in the field of vehicle design and operation, as to find the forms of a large-scale cooperation, demonstrating the best scientific developments and innovative achievements”.
