Gennady Brovka, Dean of the Faculty of Management Technologies and Humanities, spoke in detail about the Faculty's mission, unique balance of disciplines, and current training trends. He is confident that the industry is changing rapidly, and today, a classic set of specialized skills is no longer sufficient for graduates.

"The Faculty of Management Technologies and Humanities is a place where technology, management, and the humanities come together. Today, it's no longer enough for a modern specialist to be just a good engineer or manager—they need people who understand processes, know how to work in a team, analyze information, make decisions, and see development prospects," the Dean explained.

This philosophy is evident in all of the Faculty's departments, which cover an impressive range of areas: from customs, management, and engineering economics to industrial design, packaging design, and advanced energy-saving systems. As the dean noted, despite such diverse specializations, the educational process is built on a single, reliable foundation:

"The faculty's specializations share a common goal: training specialists capable of working in a modern environment where not only professional knowledge is essential, but also the ability to adapt, manage processes, create new solutions, and identify development opportunities. Practical training is one of the most important components of education at our faculty. We understand that a true specialist develops not only through lectures and seminars, but also when faced with real production and management challenges," Gennady Brovka emphasized.

To ensure students can quickly apply their skills in practice, department branches have been established directly at customer organizations, including the State Customs Committee, academic institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and specialized agencies. This synergy of competencies makes FTUG graduates in demand at major enterprises in the real sector: from MAZ, MTZ, and CJSC Atlanta to transport and logistics centers.

Advice for applicants

During the challenging admissions campaign, Gennady Brovka considered it important to give applicants the following advice:

"The main thing is not to put everything off until the last minute and try to complete everything on time. Plan your actions in advance: gather the necessary documents, review the requirements, and choose your priority areas. Don't forget to devote time not only to your studies but also to your personal life. Socializing with friends, making new acquaintances, and supporting loved ones are an important part of this period. Try to find a balance—after all, success largely depends on your organization and time management skills."

Student Life at the Faculty

The extracurricular and everyday life of FTUG students is an endless creative whirlwind, the epicenter of which is the cozy Dormitory No. 17. The building is located right next to the Borisovsky Trakt metro station. The campus is home to many creative students who regularly create entertaining events and create vibrant videos about their student life for social media.

The September orientation for newcomers on Borisovsky Trakt traditionally begins with the "Welcome to Hostel" quest, where first-year students solve riddles throughout the dorm grounds, the local "DP na BT" festival, and Sportlandia. These events culminate in a boisterous joint disco. Meanwhile, the most important creative debut—the all-faculty "Freshman's Day"—takes place in full swing on the university's main stage. On weekdays, life in the dorm is also vibrant: the student council organizes theme nights, film screenings, computer game tournaments, "Mafia" competitions, and open dialogues with invited guests.

Large-scale gala evenings celebrating faculty anniversaries and departmental anniversaries hold a special place in the FTUG culture. On the BNTU main stage, the faculty team consistently demonstrates the highest level of preparation. The team regularly takes prizes at the "BNTU Spring" festival and performs brilliantly in the "Mr. BNTU" and "Miss BNTU" competitions.

For example, at the "BNTU Spring 2026" festival, FTUG won first place, sharing it with the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Technical and Applied Sciences. The team demonstrated impressive results on all competition days: they won second-place diplomas at the dance and song festivals, where they were also awarded a special prize for the best scenography for a vocal performance, and also received a special jury award for the instrumental festival. The STEM festival was particularly popular, where the students took second place for their production about porcelain dolls, which inspired the audience to reflect on the value of the human soul.

Furthermore, in the annual competition for the best organization of ideological and educational work among faculties in 2026, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities took second place.

Faculty members are also proud of their outstanding personal victories. A student from the faculty, Yana Smagina, set an excellent example: she confidently won the title of "BNTU Student of the Year 2025 Online," after which she brilliantly represented the university at the capital level and took an honorable third place in the Republican stage of the "Student of the Year 2025" competition.
