BNTU-BelAZ won the Belarusian Handball Championship for the third time in a row on May 20, 2026. In the third decisive match of the final series against Gomel, the players of the head coach of the women's handball club BNTU-BelAZ Konstantin Sharovarov won with a score of 33:30. This title became the 27th in the club's history.
— While the first two titles were more about confidence and strength, this one is about character and overcoming. The 2025/2026 season was challenging. The team's leaders left, and five seventeen-year-old girls came from our farm club to replace them. We managed to bring back Valentina Voitulevich, an experienced goalkeeper who previously played for us, from Russia, and sign a contract with Veronika Rusilko, a line player," said Alexander Vergeichik, director of the BNTU-BelAZ women's club.
The final against Gomel was truly intense, with a score of 33:30. The opponent fought until the end, never allowing the team to relax. Gomel took the lead at the start of the match, as the girls were active in defense and quickly counterattacked, but BNTU-BelAZ managed to turn the tide of the game in the second half, when the young team showed their character.
— It wasn't until the siren sounded that we realized we had won. Gomel is a very tough team, and they have already bit us during the season. There was a moment in the middle of the second half when we led by five goals. It seemed like the game was over. But handball is a game of nerves. The girls are young, and their emotions are running high.
As Alexander Vergeichik noted, it was difficult to keep the team in shape throughout the season, but the most important thing was to help the girls play together and believe in themselves and their abilities.
— During the season, we lost to both Gomel and Grodno, but we were focused on preparing for the Belarusian Cup and the final games of the championship. Winning the Cup gave us confidence that we could play well in the championship.
We congratulate the BNTU-BelAZ team on a successful season. We wish you to gain strength for the next year and conquer the handball courts once again!
