As part of the career guidance work carried out by the Instrumentation Engineering Faculty (PSF) of the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU), student Zakhar Tolstik (group No. 11304124) visited Secondary School No. 3 in Bobruisk. The event was aimed at introducing high school students to the specializations offered by PSF, including "Microsensor Systems Technologies", and to the opportunities of studying at the country's leading technical university.
The meeting took place in a dialogue format with students in grades 10–11. Zakhar told the schoolchildren about the specifics of studying at PSF, what knowledge and skills students acquire while mastering modern areas of microelectronics and sensorics.
Of particular interest to the students was the story about where microsensor systems are used in everyday life — from smartphones and smart gadgets to medical equipment. Using concrete examples, the BNTU student showed how engineering knowledge gained at PSF allows for the creation of technologies that are now indispensable in industry, science, and everyday life.
The schoolchildren actively asked questions about admission to BNTU, entrance exams, student life, and job prospects after graduation. Zakhar shared his personal experience of choosing a profession and studying at the Instrumentation Engineering Faculty, noting that the specialization "Microsensor Systems Technologies" opens up wide opportunities for professional growth in high-tech industries.
"The engineer of the future must not only know theory but also understand how his developments work in real devices. That is exactly what they teach at PSF," the student emphasized during the conversation.
Career guidance meetings of students with schoolchildren are an important part of the work of the BNTU admissions committee. A live dialogue with those who were themselves recent applicants helps students better navigate the world of modern engineering specializations and make an informed choice of their future profession.
