Nearly 130 students took part in the university mathematics olympiad

Почти 130 студентов приняли участие в университетской олимпиаде по математике

On May 12, 2026, the University Mathematics Olympiad was held. A total of 127 first- and second-year students from 14 faculties of BNTU participated. Students from the Instrumentation Engineering, Power Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Power Engineering faculties were particularly active.

The Department of Mathematical Methods in Construction of the Faculty of Transport Communications was responsible for organizing and hosting the Olympiad. The department's faculty prepared interesting and challenging problems that addressed the future professional careers of our university students. The students had to work hard to understand how to apply the material covered in mathematics classes to solve the Olympiad problems with their unusual wording. However, many students demonstrated excellent knowledge, a good level of subject preparation, and creative abilities. We would also like to highlight the extensive work carried out by Anna Pavlovna Brichikova, an assistant professor in the Higher Mathematics Department, in preparing students from all faculties for the Olympiad.

The winners included first-year students Nikolai Ivanov and Alexey Dranevich from the Faculty of Power Engineering (1st place), Nastya Kuleshova and Maria Yurets (2nd place), and Yaroslav Starostenkov, Vladislav Tolopilo, Stanislav Izmer, and Nikolai Kruglikov (3rd place).

Also among the winners were Ivan Krasovsky and Vladislav Zmitrovich from the Faculty of Information Technology and Robotics (2nd place), Victoria Udovenko from the Faculty of Civil Engineering (2nd place), and Yaroslav Urban from the Faculty of Transport Communications (3rd place).

Among the second-year students, the best were Artem Voitekhovsky from the Faculty of Instrument Engineering and Semyon Pavlyushchik from the Faculty of Power Engineering.

The jury congratulates the Olympiad winners, thanks all participants, and wishes them continued success in their studies and research!
