Students from the Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering shared their experiences of enrolling and studying at BNTU with high school students from Soligorsk.
For reference: The mining industry in the Soligorsk district is the backbone of the region's economy, focusing on the extraction and processing of potash salts. The key enterprise is Belaruskali, which develops the Starobinskoye deposit, one of the largest in the world. The industry includes seven mines and five processing plants producing potash fertilizers, as well as peat extraction. Belaruskali OJSC is the city's main industrial enterprise, accounting for the bulk of industrial output. The region also boasts two mining equipment manufacturers, the Soligorsk Institute for Resource Saving Problems with Pilot Production.
