A branch of the Department of the Autotractor Faculty was opened on the basis of the BelOMO holding

На базе холдинга «БелОМО» открылся филиал кафедры автотракторного факультета

Today, on March 20, the grand opening of the branch of the Department of "Hydropneumo-automation and hydropneumatic drive" of the Department of Automotive Engineering of the BNTU was held on the basis of OJSC "MMZ named after S.I. Vavilov – the management company of the BelOMO holding".

The event was attended by Sergey Skirkovsky, Dean of the Faculty of Automotive Engineering, Alexander Zakharov, Head of the Department of Hydropneumatic Automation and Hydropneumatic Drive, and Sergey Yermilov, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Hydropneumatic Automation and Hydropneumatic Drive. On behalf of the holding, the guests were accompanied by Ruslan Konovko, Deputy General Director for Human Resources and Ideological Work, Alexander Provelenok, Chief Designer for Automotive Components, and Maxim Pustakhod, Deputy General Director and Chief Engineer.

The tour of the plant's facilities began with a visit to the machining shops, one of the key production facilities of the holding. The participants saw how high-precision parts are created from metal blanks under the supervision of engineers and operators for the subsequent assembly of complex products. It is in the atmosphere of real production that students will be able to consolidate their theoretical knowledge with practical skills.

After the workshops, the delegation moved on to the administrative building, where the branch's classrooms and the plant's design bureaus are located. In these offices, students will work on documentation and engineering projects alongside the plant's employees.

Sergey Skirkovsky spoke about the importance of the new branch and the prospects for students:

– Graduates of the Department of Hydropneumatic Automation and Hydropneumatic Drive are in high demand today: the demand for distribution consistently exceeds the number of specialists by more than one and a half times. The creation of a branch based on such a giant as BelOMO will further strengthen the position of our students in the labor market.

Here, students will be able to study on the most advanced equipment, learning technologies that are currently being used in the real sector. It is important that the classes will be integrated into the main schedule: the students will be able to go directly from the classroom to the production facilities. This provides a unique opportunity to see the entire process, from idea and documentation to the finished product, and to understand their role as future engineers in this chain.

The highlight of the visit was the tour of the holding's exhibition hall, where the history of the company is intertwined with future technologies. To fully immerse the guests in the production atmosphere, the tour began with a history of the company's development, from its early ideas to the legendary aerial photography equipment, some of which has even been used in space.

The exhibition hall also showcased the company's current developments, including a range of optical devices, compressors for cooling electrical installations, gas meters, and other market-demanded products. The interactive format of the exhibition allowed visitors to not only observe the samples but also test them in action, such as using binoculars and specialized devices to detect hidden cameras using a laser beam.

We are confident that this new platform will serve as a powerful starting point for the professional careers of future engineers from the Faculty of Automotive Engineering!
