From October 20 to 23, 2025, a delegation from Harbin Institute of Technology (China), led by Vice-Rector Shuai Yong, is visiting the Belarusian National Technical University. The purpose of the visit is to discuss mutually beneficial areas of cooperation and participate in the Forum of Engineering and Technology Universities of the Union State.
Today, as part of the visit, a ceremony was held for the exchange of memorandums on the establishment of joint laboratories, as well as a ceremony marking the start of their work. Memorandums were signed on the creation of the Chinese-Belarusian International Joint Laboratory for Precision Measurements and Measuring Instruments and the Chinese-Belarusian International Joint Laboratory for Advanced Materials and Intelligent Manufacturing under the framework of the Innovation Center for Postgraduate Training “China – SCO”.
The next stage of the visit was negotiations. The interests of the Belarusian National Technical University were represented by Vice-Rector for Research Ksenia Yakushenko, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Yuri Nikolaychik, General Director of the BNTU Scientific and Technological Park “Polytechnic” Georgy Vershina, Head of the Department for Training Highly Qualified Research Staff Irina Ustinovich, Dean of the Instrumentation Faculty Alexander Svistun, Dean of the Mechanical and Technological Faculty Igor Ivanov, Dean of the Faculty of International Cooperation Pavel Shirvel, Head of the Department of Experimental and Theoretical Physics Olga Reutskaya, Professor of the Department of Technological Equipment Olga Yatskevich, and Head of the Research and Testing Laboratory of Welding, Related Technologies, and Non-Destructive Testing Artem Litvinko.
At the negotiations, attention was focused on the following areas: joint development of MEMS products, scientific research in the field of welding, a roadmap for the operation of the China-SCO Innovation Center for Graduate Training, and the implementation of educational programs. The prospects of BNTU joining the BRICS Federation of Engineering Associations were discussed separately.
Tomorrow, October 22, the next round of negotiations will take place. The agenda includes specific and promising areas for mutually beneficial cooperation. Vice-Rector Shuai Yong will give a report at the forum.
