BNTU and the Inner Mongolia University of Technology strengthen partnership

БНТУ и Технологический университет Внутренней Монголии укрепляют партнерство

On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, the Belarusian National Technical University hosted a delegation from the Inner Mongolia University of Technology of the People's Republic of China. The foreign university was represented by the President of the University Council Li Zhanfeng, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture Xu Guoqiang, Deputy Director of the International Department Si Qin, staff member of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange, translator Wang Suyu, and translator Zu Lihao.

From the Belarusian National Technical University, the meeting was attended by Rector Sergey Kharitonchik, Vice-Rector for Research Ksenia Yakushenko, Dean of the Faculty of International Cooperation Pavel Shirvel, Deputy Dean for Ideological and Educational Work of the Faculty of Architecture Alesya Yanush, and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Architecture Natalia Shulyakovskaya.

The meeting became another step in the development of fruitful relations between the universities, which over the past six years have allowed the number of Chinese students at BNTU to increase tenfold. Today, 1,100 citizens of the PRC are studying at the Polytechnic University – from undergraduates to postgraduates. The university offers a wide range of opportunities for international students: courses in Russian and English, preparatory courses, and Russian language programs.

The main focus of the parties was on expanding cooperation in education, science, and technology. Key areas include increasing the number of Chinese students, especially in master's and doctoral programs, as well as developing joint educational and research programs. Representatives of the Polytechnic University invited graduates of the Inner Mongolia University of Technology to consider continuing their education at BNTU.

Particular interest was shown in the creation of joint scientific laboratories and projects in the fields of manufacturing, architecture, and energy. The idea of developing a scientific architectural and construction dictionary was considered, as well as collaboration in the area of energy system control and transformation. In addition, prospects for launching joint educational initiatives were discussed: from designing courses and teaching materials to establishing a student design bureau and a training program for unmanned technologies for haul trucks.

Natalya Shulyakovskaya presented the active areas of the faculty's international activities, emphasizing the readiness of the teaching staff to participate in projects aimed at preserving architectural heritage. She noted the successful experience of cooperation with universities in Uzbekistan and expressed confidence that similar projects could be implemented with Chinese partners as well.

As a result of the negotiations, the parties agreed to appoint individuals responsible for coordinating work, as well as to prepare specific proposals and applications for joint projects. The meeting was held in a constructive and friendly atmosphere, confirming a mutual desire to strengthen partnership ties. The visit concluded with the traditional exchange of commemorative gifts.
