Today, February 25, the roundtable “Formation and implementation of the regional scientific and technical program of Minsk region for 2026-2030” was organized at the Belarusian National Technical University. The event was attended by First Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Bakhanovich, Deputy Chairman of the Economy Committee of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee Andrei Gubkin, Rector of BNTU Sergei Kharitonchik, as well as representatives of the State Committee on Science and Technology (SCST), the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Belarus and higher educational institutions of Minsk.

At the roundtable, the participants discussed plans for the implementation of promising projects for the formation and implementation of the regional scientific and technical program for the next five years. In addition, representatives of Belarusian science drew attention to the necessity to integrate research and development with the needs of the local economy.

- The Head of our country Alexander Grigorievich Lukashenko has set a number of tasks for Belarusian science. One of the most important among them is to ensure practice-oriented and efficient scientific research in education. Currently, the leading universities of Belarus are the leading organizations and executors of scientific and technical programs. The Ministry of Education has allocated six such universities,” said Alexander Bakhanovich.

The words of the First Deputy Minister were supported by Andrei Gubkin. He underlined the importance of interaction between scientific institutions and industry to achieve the stated goals of the Belarusian scientific sector.

Pavel Yukhnyuk, Head of the Department of Scientific and Technical Programs of the Department of Scientific and Technical Policy and Expertise of SCST, presented in detail on the topic of the roundtable. Scientific research should be not only theoretical, but also practical, aimed at solving specific problems facing the economy of the republic, he emphasized.

Then Sergey Kharitonchik made a report. The Rector of the leading technical university of the country presented to the audience information about the prospective projects of tasks for the formation and implementation of the regional scientific and technical program of Minsk region for 2026-2030.

In addition, the participants of the roundtable exchanged opinions on research, development and technological works to be included in the program. In the opinion of those present, it should necessarily include projects that involve information technologies, ecological innovations, machine-building complexes and others.

The productive dialog contributed to the formation of a common vision and understanding of priority areas for scientific and technological research for the next five years.
