On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, the Belarusian State University of Physical Education hosted the ceremony of presenting the Chinese Ambassador's Prize for 2024 to the best schoolchildren and students of the Republic of Belarus in learning Chinese.
The event was attended by university rectors, school and gymnasium principals, heads of Confucius Institutes, Chinese language teachers, students and schoolchildren. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Belarusian National Technical University and the Language and Culture Center of the Confucius Institute for Science and Technology of the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU).
The ceremony was opened by Zhang Wenchuan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus. In his speech, he noted that in recent years, learning Chinese and getting to know China have become a cultural trend.

His words were supported by Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Kadlubay and Rector of the Belarusian State University of Physical Education Sergei Repkin. The invited guests emphasized the importance of studying Chinese to strengthen ties between our country and China.


This year, the Chinese Ambassador's Prize was awarded to 36 students and schoolchildren, including students of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of Alexander Yakushev and the Faculty of Marketing, Management, Entrepreneurship Sofia Trifonova, students of the Center for Chinese Language and Culture of the CIST BNTU based on the Chinese language school of the teacher Wei of Mogilev Varvara Kursakova, Varvara Samuilik, Victoria Zharinova, Erika Shatalova, Maria Garbuzova, Dominika Ivanitskaya and Darya Malakhova.



Honorary awards were also presented to teachers who were awarded the title of "Best Teacher of Chinese in Belarus 2024" and exemplary educational institutions teaching Chinese. One of such educational institutions was the Chinese language school of teacher Wei in Mogilev.

The culmination of the event was creative performances filled with the rich cultures of Belarus and China. The unforgettable atmosphere of the performances charged all those present with joyful emotions.
