Yesterday, on June 24, 2024, negotiations with representatives of the North-Eastern University (NEU; People's Republic of China) took place at the Belarusian National Technical University. The main topic of discussion was the expansion of educational opportunities for Belarusian and Chinese students.
The foreign delegation included Deputy Secretary of the Committee of North-Eastern University Wang Yuqi, Dean of the Faculty of International Education Yu Fuxiao, Head of the Personnel Department Li Guibin, lecturer of the Russian Language Department of the Faculty of International Education Dan Huye, specialist of the Faculty of International Cooperation Wu Sha.

On behalf of BNTU, the meeting was attended by Rector of BNTU Sergei Kharytonchyk, Deputy Rector for Educational Work Timur Matiushinets, Dean of the Faculty of International Cooperation Pavel Shirvel, Director of the Confucius Institute for Science and Technology BNTU (CIST) Vladimir Kleenkov (from the Belarusian side) and Li Wenxue (from the Chinese side), also a specialist at the Institute Ekaterina Fan.



During the meeting, the guests were read a report on the educational activities of CIST in 2023-2024. In addition, one of the key topics was the celebration of the Institute's tenth anniversary. Its directors presented to the leaders of BNTU and NEU their own vision of the events dedicated to the event and the celebrations themselves.



The universities also agreed on such areas of cooperation as improving and strengthening the infrastructure and material and technical base of the Confucius Institute for Science and Technology of BNTU, the introduction of new training programs on the specifics of Chinese production with the support of Northeastern University.
For reference: The Confucius Institute for Science and Technology of BNTU was founded on December 6, 2013, its opening took place on October 21, 2024. BNTU's partner in the establishment of the institute is North-Eastern University, one of the leading universities in China,founded in 1923.
