BNTU – choosing the best: the twentieth story

БНТУ – выбор лучших: история двадцатая

In the section "BNTU – the choice of the best" we introduce the first-year students of the Belarusian National Technical University, who in one way or another distinguished themselves by their activities at the university or beyond. Today, Daniil Ruselevich is a student of the Faculty of Information Technology and Robotics (FITR) in the spotlight.

The young man is a graduate of the National Children's Technopark, where he entered after participating in the Olympiads in chemistry and physics. In addition, participation in competitions, conferences, exhibitions and various festivals of the scientific and technical field gave him a chance to enter the Belarusian National Technical University without entrance tests.

For reference:  Since 2023 graduates of the National Children's Technopark can enter BNTU without exams if they have a recommendation from the supervisory board of the technopark. Such applicants only need to be interviewed by the university commission.

Interestingly at one of the events of the scientific and technical direction Daniil presented his project to the Head of State within the framework of the competition "100 ideas for Belarus", the development of which began while studying at the technopark, and continued at the student research laboratory of robotics FITR.

– The project is called the " Swarm Robotic System  “Team”". The main goal of the project is to promote robotics in the Republic of Belarus. During the work it’s going to plan to manufacture a variety of robotic devices capable of performing a wide range of tasks, as well as the integration of these devices into production and beyond. The main feature of the project will be that robots can be used separately and combined into a system in which they can interact with each other, complementing the basic functionality.

– Why did you choose BNTU?

The Belarusian National Technical University seemed to be the best place where I could realize my potential. During this year I was able to determine the further vector of development of my project, meet interesting people from various fields of activity and it seems to me, gain experience in presenting my project.

– Do your childhood dreams coincide with your reality now?

– As a child, I wanted to become a scientist. However, I didn’t know then that every scientist does something specific and not all at once. Perhaps because of this craving for science I entered the technopark.

Daniil shared that he considers the "Freshman Day" of his faculty to be the most vivid memory of his first year of study. As the guy said, the university not only helped him in his scientific activities, but also gave him new friends and vivid memories.

At the end of the interview, Daniil gave the applicants advice from personal experience:

– My advice for applicants is to understand what you really like. Look for hobbies that in the future can become your outlet or something that can bring not only pleasure, but also profit. Those who want to become a good specialist need not only to know the theoretical  material, but also to understand how to apply it, as well as be able to think outside the box. This skill can be obtained in the right university for yourself. The Belarusian National Technical University became the best for me.

We thank Daniel for the interview and wish him further success in his scientific and educational activities.
