The 2024 admission campaign in the Republic of Belarus promises to be interesting and eventful. Even now, applicants and their parents are beginning to prepare for admission by studying information about specialties, admission rules and features of studying at Belarusian universities.
Yesterday, January 5, the rules for the admission of persons for higher and secondary special education underwent a number of changes.
For reference: President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has signed a Decree according to which changes have been made to the Admission Rules of persons for higher and secondary special education.
The goal of the 2024 admission campaign is to ensure equal conditions and fair competitive selection for admission of gifted and talented, motivated applicants to higher education institutions (HEIs), including specialties in demand by the economy of our country. The Ministry of Education, Higher Education institutions, and organizations that order personnel are taking measures to successfully achieve this goal. Let's take a closer look at the key points of the updated rules and their impact on the admission process for future students.
Centralized testing (CT) a centralized exam (CE). Deadlines.
Registration for the CT will take place from April 9 to 22, 2024.
In order to create equal conditions for applicants, the CE and CT will be held on the same dates for all graduates of the current and previous years:
Admission of graduates of lyceums to higher education institutions without entrance tests.
Graduates of the BNTU Lyceum will have the opportunity to enroll in BNTU specialties without entrance examinations: in 2024, admission of lyceum graduates without entrance examinations will be carried out by 5 HEIs (BSU, BNTU, BRU, Poles State University, VSU Masherov). A prerequisite for admission is the presence in the document on education of marks of at least 9 (nine) points in academic subjects corresponding to the subjects of profile (specialized) tests, marks of at least 8 (eight) points in all other academic subjects, at the same time, the specialties for which graduates of lyceums will be admitted on a general basis are determined.
Admission of applicants to higher education institutions on the terms of targeted training
Admission of applicants to (higher education institutions) on the terms of targeted training is one of the promising and in-demand areas for students who want to receive a high-quality education and a guaranteed job after graduation. Thus, in 2023, 3.6 thousand applicants were enrolled on the terms of targeted training. A 25% increase in targeted training is planned for 2024.
Acceptance of documents, conducting internal entrance tests and enrollment in the higher educational institution of target-oriented applicants in 2024 will be taken out of the framework of the main admission campaign and will take place earlier than the main admission campaign.
In 2024, admission to targeted training will be carried out in the same format as last year. Thus, applicants entering under the terms of a target agreement take one internal exam in oral or practical form at the HEI in the first specialized (profile) subject. Questions on academic disciplines are posted on the website of the Ministry of Education.
A special feature of the admission of applicants on the terms of targeted training in 2024 is the possibility of admission by competition among individual organizations that order personnel, if the competition in the specialty as a whole did not take place. Also, for target-oriented applicants, a lower threshold of the average score of the education document is introduced at least 7.0 (with the exception of the specialties most in demand by the economy), which will help increase motivation to study.
Admission of graduates of the National Children's Technopark without entrance examinations
In 2024, additional opportunities for admission without entrance tests have been created for applicants who have successfully completed the educational programs of the educational institution “National Children's Technopark”: the list of specialties for admission will be expanded.
The admission format will not change: to enroll along the specified path, graduates must receive a recommendation from the supervisory board of the educational institution “National Children's Technopark” and undergo an interview at the university, which is conducted orally, in order to identify the personal, business qualities, abilities and motivation of applicants to receive an education in the chosen specialty, in accordance with the procedure determined by the Ministry of Education.
Admission of applicants without entrance examinations
Conditions have been improved for applicants who have the opportunity to enter a number of specialties without entrance tests. Such applicants include:
Also in 2024, the possibility of admission will be provided for applicants who do not have benefits in accordance with the Admission Rules, but who have high scores and are admitted on a general basis (based on the results of the CE, CT, entrance tests). For all specialties, places will be allocated for the general competition in the amount of at least 20% of the enrollment plan of the total number of target admission figures, and for medical specializations - at least 10% of the target admission figures.
Choosing a future profession and university is an important decision in the life of every applicant to ensure a successful future. Belarusian National Technical University offers a wide range of engineering education programs.
All BNTU training programs are based on modern technologies and teaching methods, which allows graduates to be in demand in the labor market. BNTU is the choice of the best!
