Начинаем учебный год ярко! Торжественная линейка «Первокурсник БНТУ – 2023»

Today, on September 1, the Belarusian National Technical University hosted a ceremonial  line-up "First–year student of BNTU - 2023", dedicated to the beginning of the academic year.

The event began with a procession that has already become a tradition with flags of faculties waving in the wind. The flash mob was accompanied by the musical composition "Generation We" performed by the vocal and pop studio "The Soul in Love".

On the Day of Knowledge, the Belarusian National Technical University opens its doors to gifted and talented young people, those who, having successfully completed the entrance examinations, today can rightfully be proud of the new title - “first-year student of BNTU”.

The rector of the Belarusian National Technical University, Sergei Kharytonchyk, was the first to address the first-year students with words of greeting.

I am sincerely glad to congratulate everyone present on the Day of Knowledge and the upcoming new academic year! I would especially like to congratulate the first-year students on the choice of the Belarusian National Technical University and successful admission. It is an honor to be a student of BNTU, because our university is a leading one in the field of engineering training and is among the 800 best universities in the world.

Over our hundred-year history, we have trained more than 240,000 graduates, who to this day bear the glory of BPI-BSPA-BNTU. Among our students were Nobel laureate Zhores Ivanovich Alferov, a graduate of the mechanical engineering faculty Pavel Lukyanovich Mariev, who worked for a long time as the general director of the famous BELAZ.

We are proud not only of our graduates, but also of our students. Today, one of our most famous students, the legend of the world men's biathlon Anton Smolsky, wishes you congratulations. Recently students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering have raised the flag of the university to the highest point in Europe – Mount Elbrus. And these are not all the achievements of students who make progress  in studies, science, culture and sports every day.

Then the guests of honor uttered their parting words. Sergey Chizhik emphasized the value of knowledge and engineering education. Alimzhon Riskulov congratulated all students on the Day of Knowledge, and the children from Uzbekistan who arrived to study under joint educational programs – on the Independence Day of Uzbekistan. Nikolay Ladutko drew attention to the demand for BNTU graduates in all spheres of industry in Belarus. Nikolai Korzhich, in turn, wished the children success on their chosen path and, according to the established tradition, handed over to the university fund the church publication "Temples of Alexander Nevsky in Belarus".

Congratulations in the format of a video message were conveyed by the best athlete of the year of the Republic of Belarus, a winner of the prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus "Sports Olympus", a silver medalist of the Olympic Games in Beijing, a student of BNTU Anton Smolsky. He wished the students to go forward no matter what and expressed confidence that any goals are achievable if enough effort is made.

In memory of the heroic past and as a sign of respect for veterans and soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War, a minute of silence was held. The first-year students also expressed gratitude to their ancestors during the ceremony of laying flowers at the Stele to the staff and students of the BPI who died during the Great Patriotic War.

So, it's not a  secret that first-year students have come a long way and put a lot of effort into becoming students of the country's leading technical university. Now a wide road is open in front of them, leading to knowledge and a huge number of discoveries. In order for the guys to confidently step towards their goal, their older comrades are always ready to give them their shoulder. Ilya Prokopovich, a graduate of the Faculty of Mining and Engineering Ecolog in 2021, who is better known as a popular performer of Martwin hits, conveyed his parting words from the stage. Ilya assured that the upcoming university years will be unforgettable for the guys.

The BNTU slogan reads: “We keep traditions, we live in the present, we create the future! “and the annual ceremony is permeated with the warm traditions of the university. One of these traditions is the launch of the timer for the new school year. A first-year student of the Faculty of Information Technology and Robotics, master of sports, a champion of the Republic of Belarus in chess, Alexandra Tarasenko, and a first-year student of Automotive and Tractor Faculty, a master of sports, a champion of the Republic of Belarus in swimming, Alexey Rylko, were invited to press the coveted button on the stage.

Thus, the start was given, and the participants of the lineup once again burst into loud applause. Alexander Voronishche, a Belarusian pop artist, a winner of international competitions, balalaika virtuoso, presented his congratulations in the form of creative performances to the children.

The bright end of the ceremonial  line-up was a large-scale and incendiary flash mob “Young Belarus” with the participation of all the artists of the holiday, sports performances by students and musical accompaniment from the soloists of the vocal and pop studio “Soul in Love”.

Immediately after the lineup, the guys went to their faculties in an organized manner. The new academic year for BNTU students will begin with a single class  "Belarus and Me – a dialogue of peace and creation" dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation.

We congratulate everyone on the Day of Knowledge and the beginning of the new academic year. Step bravely into the new academic year and strive for new heights!
