On New Year's Eve, representatives of the Joint Belarusian-Uzbek Interdisciplinary Institute of Applied Technical Qualifications in Tashkent together with the methodologists of the Belarusian-Uzbek Institute of Applied Technical Qualifications visited the museum complex "Dudutki.
In "Dudutki" there is the only one working mill in Belarus. Visiting it, the Uzbek guests learned about the history of creation and the principle of the "windmill. The height of the mill is 14 meters. It was built in 1905 by brothers Mikhail and Ivan Polyakov from the village Berezovka of the Gomel region. During collectivization the brothers were exiled to Siberia, and the mill became the property of the collective farms. In the 20th century, it did not work and gradually fell into disrepair. When the museum was established, it was decided to move the mill to the compound and work on its restoration.
In the forge one of the guests took part in forging a horseshoe, which he then received as a gift for good luck. Belorussians believe that if you hang it above the entrance to your home, your house will always be protected from all bad things.
The tour further included:
- straw weaving,
- vine weaving,
- bakery, where guests were treated to fresh bread, rustic butter and cheese, and served with hot herbal tea.
In the garage of retro cars you could see a great variety of vehicles, including cars from World War II. Guests also strolled through the zoological garden and agricultural buildings (stables, pigsties, and poultry houses).
At the end of the tour, the Uzbek guests visited Santa Claus, where they recited poems, sang songs and made wishes. The trip was an excellent addition to the busy program of the business visit and left, according to the guests, very positive and warm memories of Belarus.
