International Competence Center in Mining Engineering Education under the auspices of UNESCO
Faculty of Mining and Environmental Ecology, established in 2002, is a center for the training and advanced training of engineering personnel in the Republic of Belarus for the extraction, processing, rational use of natural resources, environmental protection, and environmental management.
Training of engineering personnel is carried out in the following specialties:
"Mining machines and equipment" (by directions),
"Development of mineral deposits" (by directions),
"Environmental Management and Audit in Industry".
Graduates are sent to work at JSC Belaruskali, JSC Belgorkhimprom, Republican Unitary Enterprise Production Association Belorusneft, RUPP Granit, JSC Dolomit, JSC Drilling Company Delta, JSC Trest Shakhtospetsstroy, GPO Beltopgaz , JSC "Belarusian Cement Plant", JSC "BELAZ - managing company of the holding "BELAZ-HOLDING", CJSC "Soligorsk Institute for Resource Saving Problems with Pilot Production", JSC "Dorstroyindustriya", UE "Geoservice", UE "Minskmetrostroy", JSC "Nerudprom ”, National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, to enterprises of the Ministry of Architecture and Construction, to research and design institutes.
In order to form policy in mining education at the national and international levels, the faculty is directly involved in the work of the International Center of Competence in Mining Education in St. Petersburg under the auspices of UNESCO.
The faculty has close educational and scientific relations with St. Petersburg Mining University, Russian State Geological Prospecting University named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze (Moscow), Tula State University, Tver State Technical University, Ural State Mining University (Yekaterinburg).
