As part of educational activities aimed at preventing destructive behavior among young people, on September 29 and 30, curatorial sessions for first-year students were held at the Faculty of Information Technologies and Robotics. The sessions were conducted by Senior Lecturer E. V. Kondratenok and Trainee Lecturer N. A. Rusetsky.
The main purpose of the meetings was to develop students’ clear understanding of the dangers associated with psychoactive substances and to encourage a responsible civic attitude toward this issue. In today’s information environment, where it can sometimes be difficult to distinguish reliable facts from myths, such activities play an important role in education and personal development.
During the sessions, students watched the documentary films “Road to the Abyss” and “Euphoria of Evil.” These films are based on real-life stories of people who have faced addiction. They explain in detail how drugs affect the human body and examine the medical, social, and legal consequences of substance use. Particular attention is paid to how quickly the illusion of “easy pleasure” can lead to irreversible changes in a person’s life and cause tragedies within families.
After the screenings, all participants took part in a discussion. Students shared their impressions, analyzed the reasons why young people may develop addictions, and together with the lecturers discussed alternative ways of self-development and spending their free time.
E. V. Kondratenok and N. A. Rusetsky emphasized that maintaining physical and mental health is especially important for future engineers and programmers, whose professions require a high level of concentration, clear thinking, and responsibility.
Such activities not only provide important information in an accessible form but also encourage students to reflect on the issue and engage in open dialogue.
Remember: by taking care of your health, you are investing in your successful future!
