The Politekhnik Sanatorium has been transformed! From weekend vouchers to major upgrades

Санаторий «Политехник» преобразился. Каких новшеств ждать гостям?

Yesterday, August 6, we visited the Politekhnik Sanatorium and Health Resort at BNTU. Everyone knows this facility on the shores of the Zaslavskoye Reservoir as a great place to relax and meet friends. This season, the health resort has taken a significant step forward – it has undergone a major upgrade. The updated facilities are ready to delight not only students but also university staff.

A New Format for Employees

Nina Kusmerskaya-Myalik, Director of the Sanatorium and Health Resort, explained that the recreation center has historically been very popular with BNTU employees, and the management's main goal now is to revive this good tradition.

"We've completed significant renovations, purchased a significant amount of medical equipment and supplies. Our facilities have improved significantly, and we're not stopping there. We'll be thrilled when university employees and their families start visiting us to see for themselves, try out the new services, and enjoy the upgrades."

From August 21st to 23rd, the sanatorium invites employees to try out a new format—weekend vouchers. The schedule is well-thought-out: check-in is scheduled for Friday after work (during dinner), and check-out is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.

What's included in the weekend voucher:

  • a doctor's appointment and discussion;
  • herbal teas;
  • A choice of hydrotherapy or mechanical massage;
  • nutritious meals;
  • an entertainment program, including discos and hobby activities.

Additionally, you can always rent a barbecue grill in the well-maintained grounds of the health resort, allowing you to relax with friends outdoors. For those wishing to expand their relaxation program, a wide range of additional medical services is available for a fee. These include lymphomat therapy, a cedar barrel, massage chairs, inhalations, and electro-light therapy.

Employees also have the opportunity to purchase a classic wellness package for a minimum of 7 days and choose the services they desire from the price list without restrictions. Detailed information about accommodation conditions and package prices will be available on the website soon.

Two Floors of New Life

While the health resort prepares to welcome its employees, we toured the offices, looked at the new equipment, and asked the students themselves what it's like to relax in the renovated "Polytechnic." The tour was led by Tatyana Lukyanova, Deputy Director of Medical Services at the sanatorium.

The entire treatment infrastructure is now divided into two levels. The basement is entirely dedicated to physical activity and water treatments. It houses a large exercise room where instructor-led classes are held. Guests can also rent this space and use it as a traditional gym.

A hydrotherapy center is also located nearby. As Tatyana Lukyanova explained, the hydromassage remains a firm favorite among students – the jets of water are excellent for toning muscles, which appeals to both men and women. Adjacent rooms offer medicinal baths with an impressive selection of supplements, prescribed according to individual needs, from soothing lavender to pine needles. Pearl and more intense hydromassage baths are also available here, as well as the popular cedar barrel, which perfectly complements the wellness process.

The main treatment rooms are located on the ground floor, and two therapists specialize in individualized treatments. The sanatorium offers five specialized treatments, covering respiratory, gastrointestinal, nervous, and cardiovascular conditions, as well as musculoskeletal disorders.

The equipment is extensive: the massage room with an Aquarelax table, a foot massage machine, and a chair for various massage types is especially striking. Adjacent to the room is a dry carbon dioxide bath for general strengthening, an inhalation room, and an electro-light therapy room.

"We have the highly sought-after Bioptron device, which is excellent for treating respiratory problems and quickly reduces swelling in cases of minor injuries. Among the completely new treatments is lymphatic drainage massage, which targets joints and muscle tissue, and we plan to add vacuum massage." "We've already purchased a new massage table for manual massage, and we've also hired a qualified specialist," said Tatyana Lukyanova.

Not only are the equipment being updated, but the interior of the spa is also being renovated. New doors have been installed in the hallways, and the rooms are gradually being furnished with new furniture. Plans include moving the herbal tea bar directly into the spacious lobby, where comfortable tables will be installed so that guests can comfortably socialize over a glass of oxygen cocktail.

And what do the students themselves say?

However, the best assessment of any renovation is the feedback from those for whom it was created. For the students, a trip here is a true detox after a difficult school year.

For example, Anna Chereukhina, a student at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus, came to the health center for the first time. She admitted that she had accumulated a lot of fatigue over the year, and here she found a real opportunity to "regain herself":

"The perfect day consists of the treatments, a delicious breakfast, lunch, and a trip to the beach, which is a quick bus ride away. The atmosphere here is very pleasant and the service excellent; I would gladly come here again. My favorite treatment is definitely the Aquarelax."

Classmate Angelina Sokolinskaya completely agrees. She tried different types of baths and chose pine baths, as they provide a feeling of lightness and relaxation. However, Angelina was most impressed by the aroma room:

"It has dim lighting, special lamps, and pleasant scents—you lie down and relax, the main thing is not to fall asleep. We've only been here two days, but it feels like we've been on vacation for a week. We've gathered a very sociable group, and we can find something to do at any time. It's great that they listen to us: even the DJs at the discos ask what tracks we want to hear."

For Ulyana Vankevich, a student at the Maxim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University, the sanatorium's relaxed schedule also proved to be the perfect summer recharge:

"We wake up, eat, and go to treatments—it's a great detox after school. It's very calm and relaxing. We have fun discos in the evenings. Now I'm really looking forward to the start of the general activities—it would be great to all get together and play Mafia."

The renovated Politekhnik clearly demonstrates what a modern student recreation center should look like. The smart development of medical infrastructure, the purchase of new equipment, and recent renovations have harmoniously enhanced the warm atmosphere for which generations of students have loved the health center. Here, they still make friends and dance in the evenings, improve their health, and return to school recharged—it's just that now the process has become much more comfortable!
