The ability and readiness for versatile foreign language communication is vitally necessary for a graduate of a technical university, living in a multicultural world and interacting with representatives of different cultures. The expansion of intercultural contacts is due to the fact that foreign language training becomes not only an effective factor of socio-economic, scientific-technical, and general cultural progress of society, but also a condition for the effective innovative activity of a modern specialist.
From May 25 to 30, 2026, a week of foreign languages and foreign cultures was held at the Department of Foreign Languages. As part of it, various events were held in English, German, French, Spanish, and Chinese: country-related quizzes, 'Evening of Chinese Poetry,' a game based on the TV series 'Gravity Falls' Northwest Manor Mystery Web-Quest, a translators' contest, a crossword contest, as well as a 'Self-Government Day' organized for students.

The students had the opportunity not only to test their foreign language knowledge but also to broaden their horizons. The events contributed to enriching the students' terminological and general vocabulary, developing their logical thinking and creative abilities, and increasing motivation for in-depth study of the foreign language.
At the end of the events, the results were summed up. The winners were awarded commemorative prizes. We thank everyone for their active participation and look forward to future events.
